one star because I can’t give none. It was a big mistake coming here. Please go to another hospital and save your time. I have been waiting for a room for my son for over 15 hours. Stayed overnight. They know my 5 years old he will be admitted and didn’t even offer him breakfast and I have to ask a nurse for food. I cannot leave the room and leave my 5 year old alone to get food. No attention to details. Everything look so ghetto. The walls are not cleaned you could see stained on the walls blood, there is a lot of garbage all over the floor. The restroom are disgusting. I have never seen a hospital in these conditions. I am not happy at all, I regret coming to this hall. Avoid this headache and go to another hospital where they value you as a patient. Wish me luck I hope they call me and I get room for my son because we are really uncomfortable.
My son has surgery and Jacobi hospital took it upon themselves to cancel without warning me I lost 3 days of work and no explanation was giving although I put in a compliant with patient service. Then the day of the surgery my child was sent home with no medication and we had to wait until the post op appt for his medication . The pharmacy in the hospital pharmacist is very unprofessional and rude . Worst experience ever . The only nice experience was the nurse @ the recovery they were all wonderful very sweet and professional, so sad that the process was horrible
My mom was “admitted” from the ER for testing because she passed out during a routine surgery follow up appointment. They didn’t let her go home after checking her. They didn’t do any of the tests they said they would. She spent the night awake in a hallway with 8 other unfortunate people in beds, and more just in chairs. 1 bathroom for everyone. Shift change and no nurse for hours, then someone told her she was dehydrated and then took 4 hours to get her onto a drip. Once she was “admitted “ she was no longer the concern of the ER staff, but she was never moved to even a different hallway let alone a room where regular staff would be watching, checking on her. The police came through in the late afternoon to kick out all of the visitors and so everyone now no longer had any advocates for their care. She got up herself and had to ask all of the staff, who’s her nurse, can she have Tylenol for her pain, can she have food… what the heck? Overnight on 24 hour non-watch. No wonder they don’t allow photos.
I gave birth to two beautiful kids at Jacobi hospital sometime ago and now they are teenagers, back then things were better at this hospital but now I cant believe how bad Jacobi has gotten starting from the emergency room to all the other services in that place. Took my 70 year old mom there and the treatment and care is of a third world country and everything is blame on Covid even at ending of 2022 and we are literally back to normal. The other humongous problem is communication, it's at 0% along with attitude and body language is as if you should always be fighting with someone and I mean at all times. Even when you seek help for someome to defend you on your patient rights its hopeless because the back up you need is just not there for you and not even for their own staff who works with them and ended up taking their relatives their for care. Something strongly needs to be done and that includes management before we can see some turn around in this hospital.
I received serious knife wounds to my head and shoulder. The Jacobi emergency trauma team acted swiftly and displayed superb communication skills to get the situation under control. My plastic surgeon was informative and precise. The doctor who worked on my shoulder was caring and reassuring. Great leadership and individual effort. Thank you to the entire team.
Great care in ER,, pediatrics and OBGYN, I am totally impressed Thank you so much for excellent care for my family in OBGYN - thanks to Ms. Ema, Ms. Monic , Ms. Alison, Ms. Marissa, Ms. Glitty, and everyone in the team! .
This has been a horrible experience with this hospital. My parent, who is 87 years old was in the emergency room for fourteen hours. She was discharged and no transport was available. 5 hours later the doctor, after waiting in a hallway, decide to draw blood when she is ready to be transported to a nursing facility. Then the blood work is lost. They want my parent back in the hospital. She was picked up from the facility at 3am. Test were done and nothing was found. The level of neglect in this hospital is too much. This is the kind of service that an elderly Hispanic patient received at Jacobi hospital. Think twice before going there.
My student and I came on the ambulance. EMT was awesome. The nurses and the security guards were great. They help with the cab service. The receptionist in the ER and the nurses were on point.. The DR'S listen to the needs of my student and I. This was the afternoon staff.
True story. I came here in 2008 since my daughter was born here and a Marie Chico, a social worker lied and said I tried to kill someone in the hospital. I spent 4 years on Rikers because of her and not one staff member came forward to help me. My case was finally dismissed and one day I hope to sue this hospital. Till this day I'm seeking justice against these bad people. False reporting is well known in this hospital and has been featured in the Daily News and Village Voice. The DA needs to start prosecuting city employees for corruption and falsifying records. Enough is enough.
would leave one star if I could. Staff is horrendous. What else can you expect from the boogie down. Was forced to get “treated”here because of jurisdiction after a 7 hour visit I’m now waiting 30 minutes to have my paperwork corrected. SMH. the nurse also went to draw blood from my hand because he said it was “easier”…I suggest going to hospitals in Westchester where they get paid decent enough to be motivated to do their jobs.
