Jake Hafner's has been a family owned restaurant since built by Jake & Mary Hafner in 1970. It is presently owned and operated by their son, Tom, his son, Jake and daughter Mackenzie.

For take-out please order by phone or order through our website.Hafner’s Restaurant & Tavern was opened in 1970 by Jake and his son Peter Hafner and has remained in the family ever since. Since 1981 Peter’s brother Thomas has owned and run the business along with his wife, Cris. Tom is very slowly stepping back, and his son Jake Hafner and his daughter Mackenzie Hafner-Ellis will be the third generation of Hafner’s to run the business."

The menu had so many options for everyone's taste. The food was amazing with great portions. The service was beyond friendly. A huge bonus for us was refills, our waitress was on top of those! 10/10 recommend!!!Food: 5/5
Me and some coworkers decided this was our top pick for lunch. It didn't disappoint. The wings were really good and my favorite, sweet potatoe fries were served crispy and perfect. I couldn't dip them in syrup, but the presentation was nice. We'll be back.Food: 5/5
A bit on the pricier side but you get what you pay for. The staff and food is always great. The chicken noodle soup and Greek salad is my favorite. I have also tried the beef on weck here and It was also very good. The outdoor dining patio is beautiful and relaxing.Food: 5/5
My sister and I went for dinner, and we chose Hafner's. Business was brisk, and the hostess seated us quickly. Our waitress, Dalanie, was friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu. My sister ordered the soup of the day - a hamburg/vegetable soup in a beef broth and the Chicken Taft. I ordered the French Onion Soup and the Beef in a weck sandwich. Both were served with kettle chips. Prices were reasonable. Don't pass up Hafner's. ............................................................ 10/2023 - My sister and her husband dined at Hafner's. Both got the prime rib dinner. Salads were quickly served with their dinners shortly after. Both said their meals were delicious. And the 3 bartenders were outstanding. A definite repeat.
So good! We were visiting from Illinois and the food was amazing! From French onion soup crock, broccoli cheese soup, wings, steaks, scallops and butter pecan cheesecake, it was all some of the best food we have eaten in a long time. We went early and by the time 5:30pm rolled around the place was getting busy. Our waitress Amanda was super attentive and always made sure our drink were filled and condiments were plentiful! When we are back in the area we will definitely be back. This is low key gem!

Service and Atmosphere was pretty good. The food on the other hand, not so great. I had the Fish haddock sandwich and the fish itself was very thin and didn’t give off “restaurant quality” a fish fillet sandwich at McDonald’s would have tasted better. You get a child’s handful of fries with a condiment cup of coleslaw. Granted I’m not a big fan of coleslaw but I did let a coleslaw lover take a bite, did not enjoy it one bit. Food is pricey but that’s anywhere you go, but at least make the food taste pricey.
Had a great lunchtime visit. A few nice drinks a great bartender and a well prepared steak made for a good afternoon.Food: 5/5
This is the second time that we have eaten at Hafner's while traveling through Syracuse. Both times we have been greeted by friendly hostesses, have had great service from the wait staff, and have had great meals at a reasonable price! I had the filet which was seared to a perfect medium rare and my wife had the scallops which were also done perfectly. Our cocktails were excellent as well! Looks like it is a favorite of the locals as the restaurant and bar were full both times. Highly recommended!
So disappointed that you resort to using canned mushrooms in the Shrimp Scampi Vincent. My mistake for not asking, but instead assuming that your place would naturally have fresh ones in a dish. I picked out every single bit of them and set them aside.
