A shout out to the store manager and customer staff: the other day I stumbled and fell on the curb outside the store, and went directly to the customer service desk/department to inquire if they had a bandage for a bleeding elbow. They found a first aid kit immediately and the staff assisted in cleaning the wound and applying the bandage. I want to thank them for their prompt response and kind attention. Also, I walk through this store and the mall on hot and cold days, and this Penney's is always immaculate in the layout of merchandise and displays. And, the staff actually look up from their stocking duties and exchange a welcoming hello. I have liked everything I have bought from this store in the past few years that I have lived in the area. Thanks again to the good staff who went out of their way to make sure I was ok after a fall outside the store.
I had a really positive experience the other day that I had to write a review. There was a long line at checkout and a woman named Jennie worked diligently and efficiently to help each guest with a smile. It is rare to see an employee like her which is why I took notice. I had a return and a purchase. She took care of both of my needs quickly while maintaining some positive small talk and the kicker was she had a smile on her face the whole time. Her professionalism and courtesy is top notch. If that is what employees are like at JcPenney Washington square, I will be shopping there way more often b/c individuals with exemplary customer service skills are a dying breed. Jennie- YOU ARE AMAZING!!
Always surprised by how many great clothes I purchase when visiting. This outlet is particularly good as it's pretty quiet. Staff around folding and restocking makes it easy for questions.
I had the most abhorrent experience shopping at JcPenney last week. I was with my sister and she wasn’t feeling well and was trying to hurry up and checkout so she can get to her car to take her insulin Evelyn was the lady that helped us at checkout and she was beyond rude and unprofessional. After scanning our items for purchase, I told her I had a coupon I wanted to use. She looks at the coupon and says “this is for one time use.” I said ok not understanding why she would even say that- aren’t all coupons one time use?? She was taking her sweet time checking us out and I realized the reason she was doing that was becuase she wanted her manager to come over and “examine” the coupon. When the manager arrives, Evelyn proceeds to tell her in front of me and my sister that “all these people are coming in with coupons and not giving their rewards phone numbers......” What an asinine comment. I was in a rush because my sister was having a medical emergency so I did not give my phone number. What does that have to do with the coupon? Second of all, had the associate scanned the coupon and it didn’t go through, then you can call your manager and create a chaotic scene with a full FBI investigation over a coupon. This lady proceeds to call her manager just to create a problem where there isn’t one. I guess she had reached her limit when it comes to coupon bearing customers and decided to make an example out of me? My family and I have been a loyal JcPenney customers for over 30 years and didn’t do anything to warrant this type of treatment. Her behavior is shameful and lacks integrity. We are all cardholders and JcPenney literally sends all of us coupons a couple times a month. Let me tell you that whoever the brainchild at JcPenney corporate is that sends these coupons out is a genius. I used to shop all the time at Macy’s and now I shop exclusively at JcPenney b/c I am on a fixed income and little $10 coupons here and there help in these difficult times. If this associate has a problem with paying cutomers using coupons, she needs to speak with JcPenney corporate or whoever sends out the coupons. She is completely in the wrong to accost an innocent paying customer who is just trying to pay for their items and leave. Her anger was misplaced, unprofessional, and unwarranted. She was so underhanded about it too b/c she didn’t say “I want to show my manager your coupon” or anything. She continued to ring us up and continuoiusly called for her manager on her walkie talkie. When the manger came, the associate proceeded to make it seem as though something is wrong with the coupon and speaking in an accusatory manner. This is completely unacceptable and unethical behavior. I am a woman in my 50’s and an incident like this is an attack on my integrity. I felt attacked and embarassed in front of my daughter, sister, and all the customers around me for absolutely no reason! I am simply using the coupons JcPenney mails to me several times a month! How does an employee not know that? Why would you put a customer in a horrible situation where you just want to create a problem when there literally is no problem. This employee needs feedback and coaching from management about how to handle her misplaced anger towards customers that use coupons and not insinuate that there is an issue because someone has a coupon. I felt belittled and hurt but was in no place to create a scene in front of my child and other customers behind me. JcPenney lost a loyal customer .After this experience, I will not be returning. She has unethical behavior- if she does not like the way JcPenney hands out coupons to customers, then she can speak to the company about that and not shame paying customers who are simply using the coupons they were given. It’s unfortunate that the ill-intentioned actions of one associate can put a damper on an entire store experience. Front line employees are the face of a business and they should have that at the forefront of their mind when interacting with customers.
Beautiful store, helpful staff, easy to order and pick up. They did fail to fill some of my orders, but the charges were right. I was able to go pick out the things I ordered that weren't filled with no problem but had to pay a couple of bucks more for them.?! Overall okay experience.
I don't usually comment on large chain stores but this store has two amazing cashiers at the return desk downstairs next to the shoe Department department. These two ladies are always working and are always outstanding! They are kind, happy, helpful individuals!
The clothes here are nice but the workers are not. Came with my mom, I bought one item and she came to exchange something and there are no signs to a specific place for exchanges so we both go to a register. The cashier was with my mom raised her voice at her for not knowing where exchanges were made. Totally unprofessional and most of all rude. Especially to a paying customer. As someone who has been a cashier this is not how you treat your guests.
JC Penney's is a great place to go shopping for your back to school clothes or just yourself. They have great deals every day, Deals get even greater if you have a JC Penney credit card. This JC Penney's does have 2 floors, The top floor is mostly all the homegood stuff and the bottom floor is for the apparel and accessories they have.
The stylist was so rude when I told her that I don’t like the color of my hair and there is a gray hair in the front of my head still not colored , she said “ go to another stylist next time “ . It’s the worst hair stylist. I will never come back to this salon ever.
Great place to shop .. Many choices .. good prices .. WC should have signs for its location .. staff should know premises and be more friendly ..
