The office I bit dated, but it's quick to overlook by the service and care by Dr. Brian Rose and his staff. The professionalism, care & love they put into your appointment is outstanding. They all treat your pet as if it was their own. My Great Dane, unfortunately, didn't go in for a well visit, and it was his first visit to Jefferson Animal Hospital, and I will continue to go until it's time to put my boy to rest. Dr. Rose couldn't be more empathetic and knowledgeable to make him as comfortable as possible until that time comes. I definitely found a new veterinarian.
Very caring and patient. Super thorough. Dr Brian treated my bird with such loving care to keep her as calm and comfortable as possible. Took his time with her and explained everything to us
I’ve been using Jefferson Animal Hospital for about a year now and I’m sure glad I made the switch. Dr. Jeff and Dr. Brian are the most caring, compassionate, and knowledgeable Vets I’ve ever used. They spend so much time with their patients going over every inch of them so they can make a proper diagnosis. There’s no rushing here and my animals are always put at ease by the Vets and the wonderful Vet techs. I’ve brought my dogs many, cats, bunny, and even my chickens and each one got amazing care. The whole staff at Jefferson are devoted, caring individuals and I’m thankful my animals and I have found the perfect place for us.
I recently made the switch and started using Dr Brian as my dogs primary care vet after reading the hundreds of positive reviews about this place. I’m so happy I did and I wish I did it sooner. My dog is 9 years old, a very nervous hound mix and particularly uneasy with men. The second he met Dr Brian he immediately gravitated towards him, he loved him and that showed me all I needed to know. Thank you Dr Brian and Erica for your love and care for Copper!
My family has been bringing all of our animals here for well over a decade. The team at Jefferson Animal Hospital is truly one of the most calm, kind and empathetic teams I've ever worked with. Both Dr. Brian and Dr. Jeffrey take their time during evaluations and always give various options/plans if testing/procedures need to be done. They explain in depth, and passionately, about what is going on with your pet and happily answer questions. To have vets that educate you as a pet owner is invaluable. This practice truly is a gem and I'm so grateful to bring my pets to such a loving space. They have treated our rabbits and dogs for everything from routine exams to serious cases of trauma. If I could sum the practice up in two words it would be compassionate and empowering. Thank you Rose brothers!
Unfortunately we had to put our lab Bailey down today. The amount of professionalism and compassion of the Doc’s and all the folks there really helped us get through this tough situation. They were all understanding and caring. Doc made our girl comfortable and slipped her into her forever sleep no more ache’s and pain for our old girl. From the Bottom of our hearts Thank you so much guys.
I usually don’t write reviews for many places. But I think I need to for this vet place. My Guinea pig was extremely sick and was loosing a lot of weight. We were schedule an appointment on Monday, Dr. Brain Rose he ran a X-ray, temperate, and did a full checkup on her. Her X-ray shows she had a lump in her stomach, but instead of asking us to go to another vet knowing that my Guinea pig need’s emergency care, he made us wait till Thursday for a ultrasound which we were charge over $600. Meanwhile, she was prescribed Baytril Oral Soln for infection when clearly she didn’t have any infection but a lump in her stomach. The medicine the doctor prescribed, made her loose more weight and made her stopped eating. I was getting worried and eventually search it up myself why she stopped eating and it was caused by the medicine the doctor prescribed. I called him and he said to stopped taking the Baytril and prescribed her with medicine that made her eat which did not even works. She started eating and went back to her own self after stopping all the medicine she was prescribed. Her result came back on Friday, and she had a 5 c.m lump in her stomach the doctor himself did not even know what to do, that he needed to ask the ultrasound guy what the next step was and we did not hear back till Monday. Monday evenings he called and basically told us, that he could not perform the surgery and that he would recommend us to another vet place….. We eventually went to the other vet place and was told the ultrasound and X-ray was useless in determining what my Guinea pig had. We spend over 1.2k in Port Jefferson Animal Hospital on nothing, not only that he made my Guinea pig suffer by prescribing her with the wrong medicine . Instead in the beginning if he was a a good doctor he would recommended us to another hospital ASAP. By that time my Guinea pig Lump has grew to 10 c.m on Monday after a CT scan in the other vet location in which the result came out the same day and was told that ULTASOUND and Xray are useless on guinea pig. We eventually needed to put her to sleep because her lump was pushing all her organs. I have never been so angry and disappointed before with anyone, they killed my Guinea pig knowing from the very start that they could not do anything. They took $1,240 and basically left us with nothing. If he recommended us to another vet location in the beginning and not made us wait 4 days for an ultrasound, knowing she in a bad condition she would have lived and she would have been here with us. NOT ONLY THAT IT IS THE DOCTOR FAULT FOR MAKING HER LUMP GROW, from all the waiting in between Monday and to the following Tuesday from his lack of experience. Her lump could have been so small on Monday but he made us wait till Thursday when it grew to 5 c.m and then to 10 c.m on the following Tuesday. In 7 days her lump grew because they wanted to perform useless XRAY and ultrasound on her that does not work for guinea pig to find out the problem. THIS COULD HAVE ALL BEEN PREVENTED IF HE WAS HONEST THAT HE DID NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO. But, now she is gone and we lost our money and our guinea pig is killed by Dr. Brain Rose. The picture below is my beloved guinea pig that is now gone and killed by him.I want everyone to know what happen to my guinea pig. I will also be reporting this doctor to the American Veterinary Medical Association.
They were amazing and took such great care of my lil dipper ferret. They explained to me exactly what needed to be done to make him better

I love how somebody posted a review about their guinea pig when their account that just been created, please avoid this Vet at all cost. A "vet" should know better then killing an animal due to its lack of knowledge.
We’ve been going to Port Jefferson animal Hospital for over a decade. All the staff and doctors, especially Dr. Brian Rose, have been nothing but amazing, caring, and financially respectful. I only trust this animal hospital. Highly recommend!
