This is easily my favorite pastry spot, everything is elaborate and delicious! I love that I can find pastries from Jens all over portland, they always set me up for a great day If you have a chance to make it to their shop on the weekends you absolutely must!
Love to see small businesses growing, and really admire the passion and ambition from the owner. Very inventive menu that's changed weekly. Only want to mention the time we visited the Sundae muffin croissant was a little stale, not sure if it was made the day before but could definitely taste it wasn't fresh. Just want to mention so it can be improved because really want this business to succeed : the cake we got was delicious though
Pop tarts are so amazing! I mean everything is, cheddar jalapeño scone, cookies, cakes, etc! I wish they were open everyday, but also appreciate that I have to wait to get it every week and yes I could go to one of the shops they stock at. The staff is super nice, heck even the people waiting in line are nice. Very positive experience every time. Love that we have such a great establishment in our neighborhood!
Incredible pastry! Lots of love and care goes into this business! We will definitely be back. I’d love to be able to make orders pre pay to go with specific pastries, rather than having to guess what’s going to be there when I show up, or getting a mystery box. Hopefully one day that’ll be a possibility. :
Great pastries! Definitely pricey $6-$9 a piece but nice locally owned spot. Only downside is you have to order and wait outside… there is no signage or direction on what to do for customers beyond stand in parking lot. Apparently you have to research and plan online to visit this business; it’s not a place to be discovered on its own. Menu is hard to read until you are in front of it or if you don’t use Instagram. Not worth the hassle to go every weekend but nice if you want a treat
Just went for the first time and got a slice of earl grey cake and it was perfection. Cake is hit or miss at most places, it’s seems hard to get the right moisture level and sometimes flavors are not noticeable enough. But this cake was perfectly moist and the flavors were very noticeable. I think the cake even had tea leaves in it. Oh and it was gorgeous with little flower garnishes.
This place has amazing pastries and is well worth the visit.
Jen’s Bagels and Pastries is a hidden gem in Portland. Jen is always coming up with new and amazing pastry ideas, which she changes with whatever is in season locally, so you know you’re always getting things that are at their freshest and most tasty! She partners with tons of local coffee shops wholesale, but if you really want a treat, check her IG to see what she’s offering on the weekends, when the bakery opens to the public. Cake slices, experimental recipes, and plenty of other things you can only get directly from the source. Cannot recommend her enough!!!
Everything was very good and flavorful…buttery for sure. It should be known the cinnamon bun is more of a croissant bun but I personally loved it. Some things are pricier than others but overall well priced. However, my loss of star is a result of getting 2/2 of our orders wrong.
Cannot express how incredible every item I’ve gotten from here is. The employees are always kind and efficient there are lines at times and they do a great job of cranking through all the orders. You can tell a lot of thought, time and care went into everything on the menu.
