The old neighborhood park for me from then I was a kid, and although it was refurbished when Haugan school built their extension on Leland it still has that sort of nice local flavor. Nothing that'll knock your socks off, but public parks in the city are always a welcome distraction and this is no exception.
I live across the street and witness drug use and drug dealing several times a day every single day. I call the police every day not exaggerating and they never show up. A group of kids who show up every day to get high now know I called the police and now have been threatening my life. I'm now a prisoner in my house because these people hang outside of my building to intimidate my family. Again, I've called the police and filed police reports, requests for extra patrol, attend the monthly community meetings and filed community complaints but nothing ever happens. I hate to give up and let the druggies win but I'm out of options. I'm a stay at home mom. My husband takes our car to work everyday. I already homeschool my kids because the schools are horrible. Now I can't even take my kids to the park to play, be kids and socialize with other kids because the drug activity is so bad here. The cops told me there is nothing they can do unless they actually catch the drug use and dealing happening and of course by the time the cops arrive they're gone. It's very sad and frustrating. I sit up all night worrying what retaliation is coming next from me trying to protect my family. Stay away from this park. It's filthy dirty, full of trash, everything is broken and drug use and drug dealing is out of control.
Nice park, not crowded. Pet friendly. They have a field with open space, basketball court and a playground.
It is a nice place to relax and enjoy the day or evening.
Park is ok, lots of noisy teens after school into the evening.
A lovely park, if a bit compact.
