8/10/23 My son went to play basketball as he always does and just did two days ago. Yesterday when he went the lady at the front check in accused him of lying about a membership. He’s on a Y league playing basketball in Statesville so no reason to lie. The membership ran out and I the parent didn’t know ! Furthermore you shouldn’t stereotype a person by their appearance. She not only told him once he was lying but three times. When I called the manager only thing he said was who was my son with. Why should it matter who his friends was as to why he was accused of lying , when his friends was already inside playing and he walked in alone. If you allow your child to go to this y without you I wouldn’t anymore because you have no idea how they are being treated just because the way they look. Word for the wise not all young black men with dreads are bad people ! If it’s an issue you reach out to the parent before accusing someone’s child. Especially a child where the parent is very involved in their life !
I love this YMCA, it's always very clean, staff are extraordinary, kind, welcoming and friendly. I have been coming here for yrs and it's always a pleasant experience.
I LOVE THIS YMCA!!! It's veteran friendly. The cost is unbeatable. I appreciate being able to have a personal trainer. The number and types of machines are great. There is a variety. The classes they offer are wonderful. You can do step aerobics and water aerobics on the same day. Oh, and don't forget rock climbing and pickleball. The best part is being able to get a massage after the workout is over. This YMCA has everything I need to keep me healthy and fit.
This is an okay YMCA. The staff is friendly and it's not too packed, most of the time. However, they took down their rock wall and the prices are out the roof IMO, and the gym equipment is outdated. Needs improvement for sure.
A lot of the cardio equipment is rusting and outdated. The upstairs gym area is even worse than the regular large gym. It’s very pricey for the type of outdated equipment and some of it does not work properly. A lot of the equipment needs to be lubed and the cable system upstairs has rips in the cable which is dangerous and is not smooth to use. Please do regular maintenance checks/reviews on equipment to make sure things are functioning properly and correctly. 46.00 a month for faulty and outdated equipment is insane.
Tried going but they got times for the pool in my opinion should be open the whole time but aye their rules
I love my gym. we go every day. sometimes 2x a day. they have a pool a hot tub. basketball court, racquet ball, rock wall, outdoor pavilion with exercise equipment. they have a great free weight room. it's great for the whole family.
By far the worst experience for summer camp… it all started with the teenager camp counselor telling me my child was writing up without any clue as to why. No phone call, nothing to explain the write up. Then a child knee’d my child in the face, chipping her front permanent tooth.. no phone call on the incident and refused to do anything about it. And to top the cake, we pulled her out of the camp due to the bad experience and daughter going to the beach.. and they still with drew money from my account even though they were notified that she would no longer be attending. Front desk lady had no clue what was going on and why we were charged…. Do better. Horrible experience.
Terrible place there strict about having shoes on in the weightroom soon as you come in and have a bad staff.
Great staff. Great place to relax especially the pool area for the kids and the sauna and steam room in the women's locker room not the family room it's for the grown women locker a room only
