JOEY Lansdowne

About

We get it right the first time, with globally inspired food and drink, in a modern and chic atmosphere.

Description

Since its inception in 1992, JOEY restaurants quickly spread into four Canadian provinces, Washington State and California. Not by repeating formulas and stereotypes, but by creating spaces that are perfectly situated to the locale and customer profile; JOEY continually develops and pushes the boundaries of casual fine dining.
JOEY offers globally inspired food and drink, using the freshest ingredients in a modern and chic setting. Our service is individually designed to accommodate your needs. Ensuring your visit is unique and special- it’s the way we do things, at JOEY.
We get it right the first time. This passion and culture is instilled in our partners, from CEO Jeff Fuller, who started his remarkable journey flipping burgers, washing dishes and sweeping the parking lot.
Jeff has a strong understanding of what it takes to build a business from the ground up, and our partners bring this to life everyday! “If there’s a secret,” he says, “it’s hard work, unwavering commitment to the customer, and putting together a team of the very best people you can find.” From this formula, JOEY has come to be a leader in casual fine dining.
Each JOEY location is unique to its area and while we may not all be the same, we have plenty in common: great food, fun times and exceptional dining experiences.

"Like most of JOEY management, CEO Jeff Fuller started his remarkable journey flipping burgers, washing dishes and sweeping floors. It’s called paying your dues, learning from the ground up and understanding what success takes. “If there’s a secret,” he says, “it’s hard work, unwavering commitment to the customer and assembling the very best people.” Jeff absorbed valuable lessons from his family’s successful businesses before striking out on his own with a brand new concept in upscale casual restaurants. The first JOEY opened in 1992 and, as word spread, plans for a second location were quickly in the works. Today there are 27 JOEY Restaurants across Vancouver, Kelowna, Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Toronto, Seattle and California."

The best meal I have had out in a while! Great food. Great patio. And great service. The food came quickly even though the patio was pretty busy. Easily my new favourite spot.
Not our first time, and we’re never deceived. Highly recommend. Excellent service provided to us by Bella, and the food was amazing. The place and staff was very welcoming. You will no regret, and will definitely go back again and again. Huge thanks to the whole staff for 5 star service.Food: 5/5
We had the hummus appetizer with tzatziki and pita and the flavours were great. Could of used some more garlic but other than that it was a great app. We then had the chicken parmigiana and it was delicious. The sauce had a little kick of spice and the chicken was crispy and juicy. We Also had the chicken sandwich and it was delicious. Arugula, bacon and a spicy aioli. Came on a fresh lightly toasted bun. The fries were ok that came with it. Excellent service provided by Kristina and food overall.
Ok, so mixed feelings about this place. The food is good but the portions are way too small. The happy hour is the only time, this place is worth it. Otherwise, the food or ambiance or available bevies choices or whatnot are simply not enough to make me want to spend more to eat there. I would most likely go elsewhere to get the same quality at a more decent price.
We were a group of 5 people, and we all got a complimentary glass of champagne when we arrived, that was welcoming. The food was prepared fresh, tasty dishes, came quickly, and the ingredients matched well. The staff accepted my request to swap french fries for sweet potato fries, which was great. There was also a specific menu for happy hour. The decor is nice, the seats comfortable. The atmosphere was ok, until different staff at least 4, one at the time came to ask if we wanted more drinks, that became pushy and annoying pretty fast. The prices of dishes were ok, taking in consideration the ambience.
Busy place, not full, though. Food took over 40 mins for appetizer, main was a flop. Burger was very disappointing. Cobb salab was no more than a Caesar salad. Burger was barely warm, and bum was dry, min cheese had to look. Was pretty surprised seeing how the place was just over half full inside.
A very classy & modern establishment that serve elegant dishes and a fun night-out vibes. Located in the Lansdowne, Ottawa area, this fancy place is a go-to spot for all of your life's milestones celebrations. Atmosphere: 5 out of 5. Visited this location on a Saturday evening to celebrate a friend's 22nd birthday. They were able to accomodate our group of 20 with an early reservation. However, we did feel a little bit squished being seated at their longest table. They had two people from our group sit at one of the table ends, making it feel a little crowded, instead of pushing another small table to extend the space. We had 2 servers and they were both very nice and friendly. They were able to efficiently get everyone's drink & food orders at a timely manner. Service: 4 out of 5. Everyone's food came out a decent time and serving portions are a good size. Prices for each dishes are a little on the higher end, however the flavours and experience did pull their weight. Ordered their 16oz ribeye with garlic butter, peppercorn sauce, fully loaded crispy mashed potato and asparagus, and an order of their truffle parmesan fries with grainy mustard aioli dip to share. The ribeye was cooked and seasoned well, with a flavourful crust topped with the garlic butter. I also did quite enjoy the peppercorn sauce & the loaded crispy mashed potato that added a nice texture and complimentary flavour to the meat. However, I did find the asparagus a bit undercooked for my liking. The parmesan truffle fries were fried perfectly, the dip added a nice extra flavour and was a great shareable dish. Food: 4 out of 5. Overall experience: 4 out of 5. Will definitely consider coming back to this establishment to celebrate another milestone if I'm ever in town again.
5 stars all the way. I'm usually pretty critical but been here a couple of times and every time I've been impressed with both the food and service. My blackened chicken was well cooked and tasty. The cod my GF had was also well prepared and of high quality. Overall service was attentive and friendly. Really couldn't ask for much more. Whomever is the owner or manager is they are doing a good job. This is what good restaurant should be. Last weeks was not as good as two or our 4 dishes arrived stone cold and late. After flagging the waitress the food had to be redone but took 20 minutes extra for one and over half an hour for mine which sucked as everyone was finished by the time it arrived do kinda messed up our BD celebration even though was told it would be done right away. Table besides us arrived after us and rcvd both apps and main meals before we even got our meals. No offer to comp or discount or anything? I put it down to server error but was not happy. Eventually voiced my displeasure to mngt as the waitress was not doing anything. Was eventually comped but had to point it out otherwise would of not been compensated. First bad experience so I'll leave the 5 star for now but that may change after my next visit.
Abysmal service for a large group Thursday. We had garbage sitting in front of us for over 45 minutes that had to be placed on the bar. Staff and management walked around aimlessly. When the combined group bill is close to $2k you expect a little more attentiveness.Food: 2/5
I had the good fortune to eat at Joey Lansdowne the other night and am still savouring the experience. My brother had the blackened chicken. I had the salmon. Both were excellent as was the presentation. The desserts were just as tasty. Our waiter, Tyler, was extremely professional, polite and knowledgeable about the menu. He evoked the wonderful old school manners of servers from days gone by. It was one of the best meals I've had in a long time!
