This place is picturesque from the right vantage points. A little run down, but a lovely place to stop.
It's run down now, but you can tell that it was quite the spot! There are people who come in during their leisure time to maintain trails and clear poison ivy and pick up. We love to observe the beaver pond and streams and generally run circles. We've walked all the way to the highway, but that didn't feel terribly safe, there was a lot of broken glass. For a leisurely or quick stop, it's great. The stream is spring fed, and cool. Picnic area: There is still at least one picnic table!
This is a great place to go for a hike or s mountain bike ride. The pictures I recently posted on 7/22/2023 were of the flood water that backed up during the very rainy month of July 2023. Dog-friendliness: Great place to bring your dog for a walk or hike.
Limited facilities in park. Plenty of tables, some grills, no pavilions, no drinking water, & an outhouse. Also lots of hiking, fishing, and paved walkways. This place is usually quiet and is great for avoiding crowds.
Spent alot of time here as a kid fishing, hunting, playing in the pond. There was a beach and clean picnic areas. Unfortunately the state cut funding years ago and the park fell apart. Still a great place to explore. There is an extremely high level of ticks the last time we took our dog here we didn't even go in the grass we stuck to the road and she was covered. We also found some on ourselves. Be careful spray replant and check for ticks before you get in the car.
Nice river. Lots of little critters.
MOST CLEAN AND BEAUTIFUL PLACE EVERE
Nice place for a picnic. I like being in the woods because I don't like people.
Lots of trails to walk, lots of places to picnic. Beautiful wetlands, wide variety of Wildlife. Sparsely visited, which means if you time it right it feels as if you have the entire heart to yourself. I've been hiking here for years and always see something new.
Simply beautiful. During quarantine my family walked here every day. It is so peaceful. We saw deer, turkey, lots of rabbits and birds.
