Counseling for teens, children, and young adults in Orange County, CA
It is my desire to help you identify and develop your strengths and resiliency and to explore how your painful experiences could be catalysts for growth. I am passionate about working with adults who are seeking change or increased insight into their lives as well as with adolescents and children struggling with various issues.
My areas of expertise include working with issues of trauma, sexual abuse and exploitation, substance abuse, depression, anxiety, conduct issues, parenting issues, and mental health issues that impact academic or professional success.
I work with adults and adolescents in a collaborative, strengths-based manner that incorporates cultural and personal values to support them in gaining insight into their relationships and patterns so that they can experience healing in areas of pain and strive toward clarity surrounding their goals in life and how they can thrive in their relationships, families, careers, and "life callings." I utilize play and art therapy interventions with children and involve caregivers in the process, as this often increases the likelihood that children will make desired changes. I am certified in providing Restoration Therapy, which supports adult individuals and couples in identifying inhibiting patterns and attachment styles in their relationships and seeking healing from the underlying pain and emotional states, so that they can experience increased intimacy and personal peace.
I have significant experience in working with at-risk teenagers struggling with issues of substance abuse, gang involvement, criminal activity, and other risky, unsafe behaviors as well as in supporting families experiencing the transition of gaining a new child or teenager through adoption, foster care, or obtaining legal guardianship of a family member or friend. I have training and experience in working with children ages 0-5 who have experienced trauma and in supporting their caregivers. I commonly collaborate with other important systems and providers to promote the success of children and adolescents including teachers, principals, psychologists, probation officers, social workers, and psychiatrists.
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT 95742.)
