We were so pleased with the care that our 97 year old Dad received at Keystone Pointe. He was in their Pathways Memory Care Unit for several months before he passed. He was well taken care of from the nurses, aides, therapy and the entire staff. He had mostly all the same caretakers day in and day out. How Keystone is able to hang on to the same dedicated staff some that have been there many years speaks volumes to their good reputation in itself. They were consistent in providing the same nurses and aides which was very important to our family. Because of this they got to know our Dad well which helped provide better and continuity of care for him, which is more than we can say about two other facilities our Dad was in. The other two places one of which had a different agency nurse daily and sometimes had no Aides at all wanted him out as he required more care. Keystone understood his needs and took him in and cared for him like they promised us they would. They also kept us updated on his care and scheduled family meetings to keep us informed and discuss any changes that might help improve his care. Although all the staff was great, we would like to give a special shout out to nurse Melanie who went above and beyond to make sure our Dad was in good hands, right up to the day he passed. She is truly a fantastic nurse as well as a warm, kind person. Also a big shout out to Bernie, the Aide that cared for our Dad often on the evening shift. She also had the kind, special touch that every family would want their aged parents to have. You could tell she truly cared for him and all the residents on that floor. Thank you Keystone! You made the last few months of our Dad’s days very comforting.
My mom was released to keystone after surgery for a ruptured appendix. She literally spent 22 hours there!! One LPN and one aid for 20 rooms and 2 patients in most rooms. I came to visit and she was sitting in a puddle of urine. No one had time to help her use the restroom because they are so understaffed. In fact my daughter and I stayed and took care of her ourselves until we finally decided to just take her home with us.
Love this place! Clean atmosphere and friendly staff!! Love the activities provided on the Dementia unit
I am unsure how the for the aged nursing home side is. The rehab patient care is horrible especially if the patient has mobility problems. Same as posted above, soiled linens and slow response time. Nurses with attitude problems that would not even answer simple questions. Patient wasn't cleaned or moved even though the orders stated it should be done twice a day. Medicines were all wrong and they lied to your faces about it. Food was not even provided as they said it would be, again to our faces. Just a horrible place to be if you need actual care. I can not state enough how many times all the nursing staff lied to our faces too.
Sadly you cannot give the place zero stars. I understand being short staffed and what not but nurses were basically worthless. Weren't taking care of my dad at all. Took twenty minutes for a nurse to come check on him when he used the assistance button. What if something would of happened and he couldn't breathe during that time frame? They don't seem to care about the patient let alone the protective gear. Saw several nurses wearing mask down and not covering they're nose. Don't send a loved one here this place isn't worth the time.
My 96 year old mother was brought her for rehab in 2017 and returned home after wonderful care. She again got pneumonia at home in June 2018 and even though it is a 40 minute drive, she insisted she go back to Keystone where she has once again received the best care possible. She is now, again, well and should be able to come home, but she wants to stay. I am hoping she will come home for the holidays, but not real sure yet. They have provided her with wonderful care and keep me informed on any problems that arise.
Keystone Pointe is a wonderful facility. They took excellent care of my loved one. Their nursing staff is amazing, caring and compassionate!
Mom was recently moved here after a brief hospital episode. She is improving and seems to be receiving the care needed. The staff was very willing to speak with us some present, some via phone to discuss progress, concerns, and care plan. This facility is close to home, so there are lots of visitors from church and the neighborhood, besides the family. Compared to a 3-month stay elsewhere, 21 months ago, this is a wonderful experience.
If I could give zero stars, I would. I feel my father had negligent care. I have reported them to the Ohio Dept of Aging. My father went to live there after an amputation. He was a veteran who endured a lot in his lifetime and was humiliated daily by being belittled by the staff when they had to help him on and off the commode. They would leave him for an hour at a time on the commode. My father suffered during his last couple of months. He was constantly yelled at and asked WHAT DO YOU NEED NOW? He was left to lay in soiled linens until a family member arrived. I waited one day for an hour and half after telling the nurse and STNA his sheets were soiled and I finally went down the hall and got clean linens for him. Then an hour later the nurse finally came in and I told her I cleaned him up myself. They lost him at a doctor visit. I had to leave work to go find him riding around the hospital parking lot on his scooter. He got MRSA. They never reported it to family. I discovered it during a visit and took him to the doctor myself. The STNA squeezed the MRSA sore and he screamed in pain. Then he had to have 5 more inches of his leg amputated. The day he died they were telling me to force feed him until hospice came in and told them to stop. When he passed away the STNA came in to clean him up for the funeral home to come get him and she said "He always hated these hospital gowns but I have to put one on him, wouldn't it be funny if he jumped up and yelled at me to stop?" I looked at her in horror because I just lost my father and she is making jokes? What kind of racket are they running here? Terrible, lazy and uncaring staff, worse administration. They should all feel ashamed.
I wish i could give this place zero stars. DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVE ONES HERE! My grandfather was admitted to Keystone with the knowledge that he was terminally ill with brain cancer. They gave him negligent care, and even yelled at my grandmother in front of a whole bunch of people about "what they were and were not going to do". After my grandfather passed away, my grandmother stopped in to have them fill out one sheet of paper for her nursing home insurance. The administrator very rudely told her that she was not going to waste time and money filling out the paperwork for my grandmother because neither she nor the nursing home was getting any money. From what I know, she is under obligation from the state of Ohio to fill out the paperwork, and it wasn't until she was threatened with the fact that my family would call the state of Ohio did she fill it out. quite promptly after that I might add. My grandmother and family were and still are going through a hard time, and they made it a million times worse. Please, please, please, don't send anyone to this facility!!!!
