This was our 1st time visiting this restaurant and we came hungry! We didn't feel like sitting through the show so we opted to sit at a table near the sushi bar instead of the hibachi grill. Our food was cooked in the kitchen so it didn't take long to arrive. I really wanted to give Kiku at least 4 stars because my entree Hibachi chicken & shrimp combo was excellent..Hot, fresh and delicious! My sweet tea was absolute perfection! However, my soup was barely warm and my salad WAS warm and drenched in dressing! The area I sat in wasn't very clean at all. The fried rice was an additional $3! And it was so freaking hot in there that we only ate a few bites and left quickly! Also, they charge a 15% gratuity on EVERY bill regardless of party size! I normally tip 20% and since the waiter deserved it, as he was very attentive and accommodating to our requests, I left some cash on the table. I MIGHT dine here again simply because my Hibachi meal was delicious!!
Quick and pleasant experience. Came with my husband on a Saturday night. I was hoping to find a seat at the bar because I expected the wait time for tables to be long. But surprisingly, they didn’t look too busy. We still took our seats at the bar and quickly ordered. Our food came out in record time — I couldn’t believe it. The salmon fried rice was piping hot and yummy. The sushi and seaweed salad was also delicious. Our food came out even before our drinks. I gave 4 stars only because the facility itself wasn’t very clean and looked a bit run down. It seems like they would benefit by some renovations.
Service was good, very attentive. I didn't sit on the hibachi side. My rice, with chicken steak and shrimp was slightly salty. The sushi servings are big and plump. But don't ask for a knife to cut it, because they don't have any. So I had to use my plastic fork Food: 4/5
The wait time is very minimal if your whole party is present. Once my party was seated, we waited for a cook to show up for about 15-20 minutes. Other than that, the food was great. I ordered the imperial dinner steak, chicken, lobster, and shrimp. The food was seasoned well and cooked the way I like it. I did not like that the noodles were so thin. I’m used to Japanese steakhouses serving the lo mein noodles. The fried rice was cooked to perfection. I loved that my proteins were seasoned with salt, butter, lemon juice, and teriyaki sauce. I had a great experience overall and I will definitely be coming back.
Sooo, I come here every Wednesday for lunch and I usually have the same server and he’s great. But this time i had someone new, & I didn’t receive my food in order and I received a nasty drink. I asked what was wrong and the bartender stated that they changed the orange juice. Even though I did not drink it, I was still charged for it. I guess I have to find a new lunch spot for Wednesday’s ugh!
A family member birthday was Friday and she wanted to celebrate at a hibachi restaurant on Sunday. The price $$$ of meals was not inexpensive. The cost of 2 adults and 3 kids meal was $176 to include $25 gratuity and $11 taxes. A tip was requested on the side and I was not able to keep itemized bill. A tip was given. A parent complained that fried rice was not part meals. Or, these meals had fried rice charged separately. The minimum charge of a kids meal was $17.95. Any combination of steak and chicken meals was $23-$29. Sweetened drinks cost was $13.45 and only Pepsi products available. Waiter was specific in asking if everyone wanted fried rice with meals. The heat of fire from the entertainment was immense. Based on our dining location, we could feel on our arms and necks heat from other parts of the room. There is a separate sushi bar and other areas of dining without the grill. Wait times were less than 30 minutes. Parking in area can be less than ideal due to many restaurants in the area. There were three birthdays celebrated in the restaurant because members of Kiku helped to celebrate birthdays with drums and a song. Patrons are allowed to take home their leftovers. All patrons at dining table received ice cream.
The quality of the food has suffered over the years. I won’t be back. The have modernized putting salad shrimp in rice now very small pre cooked shrimp and the flavor was almost none. Sushi was basic. I heard that the keep selling this place and the people who made it KIKu no longer are running it.
Very pleased with the decor, service and food. Drinks were good and great size as well. You won't be disappointed in the staff friendly and humorous personalities. The portions of the food are enough for 2 servings. Highly recommend
Regular poor chineese place. Sticky tables, servers don't know the menu, prices and barely speak English. Here is a picture of philadelphia roll just to see how poor it looks. They put tiny avocado and tiny piece of fish inside just to remind you what did you order I guess. What is on the picture cost 30$
Came in on a Monday evening, was seated in the hibachi area, party of 2 within 10 minutes. Our host came out to serve the group within 5-10 minutes. The cook/chef was friendly, entertaining. The soup & salad came out quick and we had no problems with the customer service. There were good portions for the food, the taste was decent not spectacular but not terrible, a little heavy on the soy sauce but overall good. Ended up taking most of my food home. I wouldn’t give it 5 stars, it’s not a “must try in ATL” or anything but good to eat if you live in or are near the area and want hibachi. For steak & shrimp $33, $3 fried rice plus sushi $13 and a drink $3 I spent about $60 15% gratuity is automatically included, plus tax. I’d visit again!
