I am 53 and suffered a stroke just before Halloween and spent about a month in my hometown hospital in NY. It came to a point that I needed to be transferred to a facility that can offer more precise care. Kindred is absolutely the perfect spot. I'm getting 24/7 attention and many delicious meals. They've been taking care of all my needs and trust me there are many. I'm hoping to be walking again in a few weeks and even if I'm not I know I'll be getting the best care here. -Mike Colvin
I spent 57 days here. The doctors and therapist were great. Shout out to Natalie. Bruno and OT , Speech. Most of the nurses were amazing. A great place saved me life and helped me back to the living. Praise the Lord
I recently spent time at Kindred Hospital, primarily to receive a 4-week regimen of a daily intravenous antibiotic and an antifungal to treat a liver abscess. My ordeal began at another hospital, St. Peter's in New Brunswick, where I had been through a lot. I was admitted there a few weeks earlier, feeling very ill. Long story short, my gall bladder was removed, I became septic, went into Atrial fibrillation, my kidneys began to fail, I was put on dialysis and an abscess was discovered in my liver. I began to recover slowly and was sent to Kindred for the intravenous liver abscess treatments and was also expected to continue dialysis there. I credit the nephrologist at Kindred, who's name escapes me now, for recognizing that my kidney functions were coming back strong and that dialysis would no longer be necessary. I would also like to give a shoutout to my occupational and physical therapists hope I have their names right, Charlene, Natalia, Tori and Scott, who helped me to eventually be able to "race" around the halls on my own two feet without the aid of a net. Further thanks go to all the fantastic nurses and assistants, cafeteria workers Thanks, Patty!, housekeepers and the maintenance guys, who made some repairs in my room. I want to particularly mention a few of the nurses who went the extra mile caring for me. Nurse Donna was great! She knows how to get things done! I asked Nurse Cheryl if she could mail a letter for me I'd heard there was a mailbox downstairs and she offered to go to the post office for me! Nurse Natalia was the first nurse I met when I arrived around midnight and she was very caring and put me at ease. Assistant "Ligi" was very sweet and helped me stay clean and got me whatever I needed. I met many nurses and assistants during my stay and they were overall very professional and caring. I even met the CEO Andrew?, who seemed to be a very nice guy. I'll close by saying that if you have to be in a hospital, I highly recommend Kindred Hospital!
This hospital provides excellent patient care. I always have received the upmost best quality medical care and attention, and the doctors and nurses are always the sweetest, most caring people. Thank you for doing a great job.
I would not even give it one star!! I lost 21 lb in less than a month ! I had a terrible fall there which cost me severe pain for months and left me with an ugly scar on my left leg! All due to there neglect...I was never cleaned properly or given the proper cloth or soap to do it myself..I was given unnecessary tests without sufficient explanation on their parts except that they said they thought they saw something...but wouldn't tell me what! They refused to shampoo my hair with the microwave cap ever! Three weeks!! I could go on for much longer, but I haven't got the stomach to think about this nightmare anymore! Shame on you all!!!
My family member was a patient at Kindred Hospital New Jersey- Morris County. The initial part of the stay was during a Covid shutdown and there was no visitation. I would get an update from both shifts each day. The nurses never got tired of me asking questions and were very thorough with their updates. When we could finally visit, it was apparent the medical staff went out of their way to form personal connections. Overall, it was a very positive experience.
Care here is terrible. Our family member was here and needed help getting adjusted in her bed from time me to rime. She was constantly told she was aggressive not true, and that they had other patients besides her to care for, really why would you tell a patient that? They also told her at one point that no one would be back to help her. I do not recommend this facility at all, some of the aides and nurses on the Kindred floor need to take some training in compassion.
If we have to go to a long term acute care hospital, we wouldn't want to go anywhere but Kindred Hospital in Dover, NJ. Staff members have treated us so sweetly and respectfully. What we love about this place is everyone is so positive despite a scary diagnosis or situation and makes us feel at ease. From the very first day we were being taught how to use the vent machine and shown tips and techniques so that we would be able to safely take care of our loved one at home. Staff went out of their way to comfort our loved one when she was uncomfortable or anxious. We trust that our loved one will be in great hands here so when she had to go back to a long term acute care hospital again we chose Kindred Hospital without hesitation. Special shout out to Anne Marie, Shabrina, Eve, Andre, Ben, Edgar, Avalon, Karen, Liji, Jessica, Kim, Dorothy, Rachael, Julie, Yasemin, Kathy, Debbie, Tasneem, Reine, and Laura. We love so many others and the list is too long to write. Thank you so much to everybody at Kindred Hospital.
The care at Kindred Morris County was exceptional. Thank you to the nurses and aids that helped during my recording.
I extremely surprised to see the rating for this Kindred facility. Has someone that get assigned to different Kindred locations in North Jersey. I can honesty say this one is the worst. The cna and respiratory techs are incompetent and lazy. I had a private patient there for 5 days a week 7-3. I was the one who clean and changed her clothing and bedding. Every morning I came and found her exactly how I left the previous day. I had the case for months until I reported some issues to one of the respiratory tech there regarding how the other tech was treating my patient. The patient was in distressed, I was looking for her and could not found her. She was assigned to my patient for a week, she barely came to the room. Next thing I knew the patient's husband called the agency and reported me for not caring for his wife. He said the staff at the hospital informed him of my negligence. The staff follow each other blindly. After several encountered, I told the agency to find me a new case. I really hope administration had clean up some of the things I observed there.
