Kinkead Cemetery, a place to honor those who have gone before and to maintain the connections that bind us as family and friends.
Kinkead Cemetery is a non profit organization. The cemetery contains 130 graves dating back to the 1840's. The first cemetery was located on the original Kinkead homestead, but was moved in the early 1970's due to the creation of Truman Lake.
The present cemetery site is located on T Hwy near Warsaw MO in Benton County next to the Spring Grove Baptist Church. Though they are not affiliated, they have shared a great many members throughout the years.
There are approximately 30 "unknown" graves in the cemetery. Each "unknown" either had no tombstone or the stone was illegible when moved.
The cemetery board consists of 7 members:
President - Carter Kinkead
Treasurer - Kelly Gregory
Secretary - Judy Kinkead
Members - Joe Nash, J.K. Nash, Debbie Wilson, Missy Parmley
Plots are available for $50 each. Please contact Carter Kinkead for more information.
The cemetery is maintained by donations.
We hold a reunion/homecoming every spring to reconnect, share photos, memories and great food.
Please feel free to add photos, stories, memories, etc to this page and of course provide any corrections that may be needed to the content. I do my best to be accurate, but my knowledge is somewhat limited so I appreciate all the help I can get.
I can be contacted through this page or directly at [email protected].
(I will be posting as the cemetery, but I am Missy McLaughlin Parmley, granddaughter of Carl and Faye Kinkead McCubbin).
