Kristofer S. Michaud was raised in Clinton County. He lives in Plattsburgh, NY and is proud to offer his legal services to the people of the North Country.
Mr. Michaud completed the B.C.L. / LL.B. program at McGill University's Faculty of Law in 2007, earning degrees in both common law and civil law.
He began his legal career with O'Connell & Aronowitz, P.C. in 2008. The following year, Mr. Michaud founded his own law practice on the banks of Lake Champlain, concentrating in Matrimonial/Family Law, Criminal Defense and DWI/Traffic Law.
Mr. Michaud is admitted to practice in the New York State Bar, Third Department and the U.S. Federal District Court, Northern District of New York. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, and the Clinton County Bar Association.
Mr. Michaud regularly appears in Clinton County Court, Clinton County Family Court, Clinton County Supreme and IDV Courts, and Plattsburgh City Court. He also appears in Justice Courts in the Towns and Villages of Plattsburgh, Peru, Beekmantown, Ausable, Schuyler Falls, Saranac, Dannemora, and Chazy.
In addition to his duties as a lawyer, Mr. Michaud is also a practicing mediator, with experience in the Los Angeles County Court system. He is working toward a Master’s degree In Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine Law School’s Straus Institute in Malibu, California, attending classes as his schedule permits. He is also a regular contributor to ADR Times, the leading trade journal for conflict resolution professionals.
