What a lovely place! The building is small but they are consistently cranking out the best pastries in the city! They have a gluten free quiche option that is delicious! I’ve heard the cherry turnovers are the best! Quick and easy walk up and order service.
We traveled from Illinois out to the Lake City area in late August to do some high mountain hiking and ran across this little bakery. Wow, best surprise of the entire trip! This place puts out amazing product, both sweet and savory for prices I was almost ashamed to pay. You'd pay more than double the price at any high end bakery back home. This was a definite must visit place for me. I'll recommend it to anyone traveling in the area!
Now THIS is a bakery! Over the years, I’ve seen few match the charm and baking skill of Lake City Bakery. EVERYTHING on the menu is absolutely delicious—and the menu is expansive! The fact that they are able to make so many items so well is no small feat! My favorites tend to be the rolls, whether they be turkey, ham, or roast beef. This is a must-stop if you’re ever in the area.
We were trying to visit basically every restaurant during our recent Lake City stay. We were enticed by all the great reviews for this bakery. Unfortunately we had a terrible experience. The 1 minute of service was outright rude and hostile. It wasn’t busy so really no excuse. The server asked my husband for our order. My husband said “ooo I want to see all these options!” since the couple in front of us was in front of the pastry display. The server outright rolled his eyes. Then when we asked about two items he gave us an exasperated sigh. He pointed to them and when I leaned in to see because we had our dog, he literally yelled at me to keep the screen shut it was open for one second because he refused to suggest an item. I opted not to order anything. It’s unfortunate but at least this was our only negative experience during our entire stay.
Owner I’m assuming was rude and donuts tasted days old. At 7:15 am. The sausage kolache was good.
Breakfast burrito had decent flavor, though it smelled its paper bag and our car up pretty bad. The cinnamon roll was hard and didn'thave much flavor. And, the brownie was even harder and had even less flavor.
The BEST bakery in CO!!!! The bacon bagel sandwich is divine and something we dream about all year long.
Pretty solid selection for breakfast and lunch. Don't be spending all day up in there trying to figure out what you want. Other people gotta eat too.
I love a good quiche, and let me tell you... their spinach and Italian sausage quiche are by far the best Iv ever had.
No thrills mtn bakery with excellent baked goods and only drip coffee. Highly recommend the visit.
