The Kenneth J. Shouldice Library is an instructional resources center for the students and employees of LSSU, and members of the community and region. A highly trained staff is available to help you meet diverse informational and computing needs. The collection consists of over 130,000 volumes and 850 periodical subscriptions, as well as 75,000 microforms and almost 1,000 items in various formats. Use Voyager, the online catalog to find library materials; and the many online databases to search periodical indexes for article citations or full-text articles. Once you've found your information, the KJS Library offers ample room to study comfortably with seating for over 350, as well as individual and group study rooms. Our goal is to serve you, our patrons. We're your information center.
The Kenneth J. Shouldice Library is the research hub of Lake Superior State University and the most important intellectual resource of the academic community. Its primary mission is to provide services and resources to meet the present and future scholarly and informational needs of the University, and to extend these services and resources to its regional center sites. The Library also strives to provide services to the greater Sault Ste. Marie area which extends beyond the U.S. border to include Northern Ontario. As a University department, the Library actively participates in teaching, curricular development, research and other scholarly activities.
