Just went to learn about the park and to picnic while on our trip. No parking in the picnic area for travel trailers in tow. Had to take up many spaces and we were questioned by the ranger about our intent. The bathrooms were dirty. The nature trail close to the picnic area had no signage for it's length. Nor could we find details about that trail near the picnic area. The nature is absolutely beautiful.
What a beautiful place! It wasn't very crowded when we visited mid-September. We had a campsite by the lake, which was super great. There were a couple nice trails for biking, plenty of space to explore, and the Sunday brunch at the hotel was delightful!
Went for Thanksgiving and had a great time. My family goes to the park every year for Thanksgiving. They can accommodate large groups for our reunions. The food is good, the service is good, the facilities are nice and no one is stuck cooking and/or cleaning up. Good experience all around.
It was a relaxing place allowing for us to have a great weekend. I started with 3 stars but I raised it to 4. The reason I didn’t give 5 is because one of the ladies working the desk had the nastiest attitude. First of all I wasn’t engaged in a conversation with her she was actually helping someone else. The issue came when I believe her name was Danielle pulled my information and there was an issue with the check-in date. The other heard her say my name and stated “I was lucky because she was about to give my room away since I wasn’t there the day before and didn’t answer my phone in that day when they called. I wasn’t supposed to be there the day before and I couldn’t answer my phone because I was actively riding my motorcycle on my way there. She basically ignored everything I said and continued in with her nasty attitude saying they called and I didn’t answer. I then let her know that at my gas stop I called back and got a voicemail she then stated once again very nasty that they didn’t have voicemail. So I asked who was Sharon realizing I wasn’t lying she then stated well I guess she called you from her personal phone. Which one is it you do if you don’t!!!? I then asked Danielle to please get me a supervisor because for one her attitude was very nasty and the whole conversation was about to go in a totally different direction. Two I been on a bike since 6 am through different weather and was tired. Three at no time was I rude to her. Four one of our chapters has this event their every year bringing a lot of us from all over the US on bikes. And last but not least it just want anyway to speak to someone especially when they weren’t being rude to her. When I asked for a supervisor her whole attitude changed then she became helpful and the tone in her voice was like speaking to a whole different person. Danielle spent about 3 minutes correcting the issue allowing me and my husband to be able to check into our room with one day I had already paid at booking and then only being charged for one more day. Not sure of the rude lady’s name funny thing she was the assistant superintendent, she needs to take some customer service lessons from Danielle. Hopefully by next year she will have had some extended training.
Beautiful place, clean rooms, staff not very responsive to requests for Kleenex or pillows, on-site restaurant is excellent & inexpensive. Overall great place. The 4 vs 5 is because we had an issue at the end where they added charges to our prearranged cost for a 60 person family reunion.
We came here for Fins, Feathers & Flowers weekend. Very educational and relaxing weekend. My hats off to whoever organised this . Hotel rooms are huge, service is friendly, and the restaurant is very reasonably great. Rooms: Rooms are huge. Beds are comfortable . Beautiful view from the balcony. Food & drinks: Restaurant mgr is a tough cookie. She runs the restaurant like she was A General. Food was very good, very reasonable, service was good, and the view outside was outstanding . Restaurant is a plus for coming here. Don't have to drive to town.
The park was beautiful! The campsites need just a little maintenance and some afterhours patrolling to enforce quiet hours. Overall it was a very enjoyable visit!Service: 4/5
Arrived in a 30ft RV. The good. $29 for water and electric hookups. The RV park has a gate with a secure key code for entry. The bad. The hookups are all on the wrong side. I have a long electric cord on my RV or I would use my backup to actually plug in electric. And the water is on the wrong side also. I'm grateful I have 2 water hoses or I wouldn't have water. I arrived at dark so I can't tell you anything else. I didn't bother to unhook the truck though. I won't be staying.
Park needed some grounds keeping attention. Ladies shower house had no heat but the men's was toasty warm. Other then that, park was peaceful.
Camped during January. Was a little cold but we had a good time. Amenities were good. Nice having a restaurant in the same area.Location: 5/5
