I have transferred from Nashville to the Naples area. Was a great shock to me. In Nashville, I had so much access to VA services in a 30-mile radius including hospitals and surgery. Coming to Naples means I get my GP visit close by but for everything else I drive 45 minutes for eyes and general stuff and if I need major medical - it is on to Tampa. I am not complaining about any staff or services as everyone I have dealt with is a great and caring person. I am just shocked that the government will spend so much money on programs other than taking care of Veterans who gave this country their all. This country owes veterans something better than this type of healthcare system. The nice thing, my eyes were taken care of by a civilian doctor and I guess that is the way it works down here. Maybe it is the best approach - knock down these facilities and just send us to local doctors and eliminate these costs altogether.
I have been a patient of this facility for 20 + years for Agent Orange and associated conditions. I have always been treated with respect and courtesy by the staff. My only complaint is that it always takes 15 to 45 minutes to reach a human being on the phone. If appointments are not available on a timely basis, arrangements can be made locally. Community Care has set me up with at least 5 doctors or facilities within 5 miles of my home. It is also nice to know that if hospitalization is required Community Care can be arranged rather than traveling 2 and a half hours to Tampa. For visitors that would mean a 5 hour round trip.
I' m 94 yo been going to the FT Myer/Cape Coral VA for 18 years. Each time I go it's like visiting a friend. Who ever trains the personal in one on relations dealing with Vet's with many NOT average conditions is an asset to the VA and Veterans, Thank You. 9665
Do not go to this clinic if you do not have to. The staff is extremely rude and unprofessional. Chris Edwards even laughed at me when i was simply trying to make an appointment. If it wasn’t for Sara Brown I would have had another anxiety attack. I’m glad they can treat disabled vets this way and think it’s ok. I’m sorry I’m broken and that’s an inconvenience for your job.
I've had nothing but excellent care since transferring to Cape Coral. As a female veteran I was worried but the doctors and staff have been wonderful. Special thanks to Dr Benson and the dental team!
Forcing my boyfriend to go through withdrawals every single month because Dr Villaverde can’t get back to his patients. Will be taking legal action if it persists.
Can't never get anybody from my health team to contact me back. It's always someone will give you a call by the reception and never hear anything from anyone.
Knowledge and customer service horrible. Tried to get a COVID booster shot after calling to verify I didn't need an appointment to get a booster shoy and asked multiple questions only to show up and be turned away because they aren't giving boosters right now. How about publicizing it VA you spam me with all other kinds of stuff via email. Why not put the word out when they'll be available again?
Dr. and nurses are the best. Hope we're not going to have the damn mask next time.
Total miscomprehension of veterans of mental disabilities. Was called a junky by my the head shrink. Shrugged it off as maybe I had a mini-manic attack hard to remember during those; yet when I went back after a month to start my mental health plan the joke of a doctor lady called me a junky for my attempt to discuss medical marijuana, which prompted the junky comment. Just disgusted with the service from the medical staff. Tried to file a complaint, and was told not to bother coming back next month, because they wouldn't see me. Like I said just disgusting.
