I love Life Time because the gym has everything for my needs: variety of classes, tennis, pickle ball, swimming pools indoors and outdoors and also hot tubs inside and outside, kid’s friendly. Life Time cafe have good healthy food choices, it has hair salon, spa. Place is beautiful and clean. Showers have good quality body wash, shampoo and hair conditioner. Lockers have hair spray, deodorant, shaving cream, mouthwash, plenty of clean towels. Sports equipment maintained nice, clean and great working condition. I wouldn’t change for any other gym.
I deleted my prior review also a 5 star one as it was too long.. And I’m sitting here on Labor Day and just want to say thank you. For being open on holidays. The people are nice and well trained to teach classes etc. it’s worth the price. Been a member for a long time and I do check out other clubs from time to time. But this is still worth it to me. Happy Labor Day everyone!
The magnificent elements of this gym are nearly overwhelming. I have been to gyms all over and I can say without a doubt that this particular location meets all the needs of a person just beginning their fitness journey all the way up to the most avid of fitness enthusiasts. With that said, it obviously covers all the space in between so no matter where youre at in life this place can help you get moving again. Remember, in this life we pay for real quality and you get what you pay for. Are there gyms with a monthly fee a fraction as much? Sure. But you get what you pay for at those kinds of places. Limitations due to true quality in equipment and staff. Lifetime Fitness is the epitome of quality unparalleled. From the moment I walked in the staff was very welcoming and made all accommodations available. As I made my way up the stairs to the gym floor I found the quality and variety of everything sincerely jaw dropping and awe inspiring. Unfortunately my finances are up and down, serious feast or famine type of stuff. But if you're more responsible than me you could not make a better investment in Your Quality of Life than becoming a member here.
Our family has been a loyal paying customer for two plus years. Lifetime offers a good option for parents with young kids with activities and have some workout “me” time. We also spent a bunch money on kids activities, swimming team, private classes. My wife for personal reasons has not been going to the gym for a long while, and just came off membership a week ago. Last Sunday, she came with me to meet up with friends there while I play one hour of leisure tennis. We were told guest pass is not allowed and for my wife to come in, we have to pay 40 bucks for an entire day pass plus additional tennis court fee. Left a really bad taste in our mouth, comes across very greedy, short-sighted, and unwise. I immediately cancelled all my membership as well as my kids’, as it is apparent to me that our entire family’s value as a customer is worth only 80 bucks to them, instead of the years of $350 due I pay for our family in the past, or the prospect of me continuing to pay almost $200 / month or $2,000 a year going forward. Steve, the gentlemen who requested that we pay a ridiculous fee or “re-enroll” my wife as a member, simply for one hour of watching me play tennis, apparently is neither math savvy nor commercial enough to understand the cost of customer acquisition, the value of words of mouth from parents in the community, and the image he created on behalf of Lifetime as a money grabber rather than a customer centric organization. He also told me he is the highest decision maker at the organization that day, which surprised me. Very disappointing. In summary, three things. If you have young kids, it may make sense with the high price, but it is definitely not worth the price if your kids are over 6. Remember to check for hidden fees, charges you for magazines you do not need nor are you aware of, as well as passing credit card fees onto customers, which is mind-boggling for a 4 billion dollar private equity owned business to do. I have been recommending LT to fellow parents, many joined, but I will no longer do that and actually advise against doing it. Based on my latest interaction with them, there is definitely no willingness or effort at Lifetime DSM to value you and keep you as a customer.
Not worth the price. Limited classes offered at certain times of the day. I'm interested in barre and Pilates, neither of which are offered before or after work - only during the day. Pilates is an extra fee, which is ridiculous given the hefty price of the membership to begin with. Limited space in classes unless you show up 10-15 minutes early. At 6am, I am not coming in 15 minutes early to watch the prior class finish up just so I can get a spot in the class I'm paying for. The parking lot is always way too full and you can't find a spot without driving around several times. VERY strict guest rules. The same guest is only allowed to come once every two months, while other gyms that are much cheaper are more flexible with guest passes. And starting later this month, guests are not allowed on weekends. For almost $200 a month, they are very strict with their rules and you aren't guaranteed a spot. Save your money and find a much cheaper gym with less rules and regulations.
Oh, Lifetime Gym, what a truly unique and special experience you are. Where else can you pay an arm and a leg to workout in a place that is always teeming with people? It's like a sardine can, but with more sweating and grunting. But fear not, because you get to enjoy the privilege of waking up early enough to catch the sunrise while everyone else is still snoozing in their cozy beds. That's right, you can start your day by fighting for a spot on the elliptical while your fellow gym-goers cheer you on with their battle cries of "I got next!" And let's not forget the sheer joy of paying an exorbitant amount of money to feel like you're running on a treadmill in Times Square during rush hour. It's like a constant reminder that you're not alone in this world, as you get to bump elbows with strangers while you both struggle to catch your breath. But all jokes aside, Lifetime Gym truly is a one-of-a-kind experience. You can't put a price on the opportunity to bond with other sweaty humans at the crack of dawn. 7.1 out of 10, would recommend but only if you really love crowds and overpriced memberships.
I went into lifetime, and I was expected to head in and be a guest- per usual. I have been told numerous amount of times that it is between thirty days, it has been well over a month! A front desk receptionist claimed she had checked me in a week ago. i was not here a week ago. she checks again, and last time i was there was well over a month, and apparently there was a rule change that it was every 60 days- never heard of that.
Nice gym, great classes and offer great activities for kids. But if you want to stick with a sport for your kid, you have to pay typical prices you would with a private instructor. Save your money and just get private lessons for your kids. And there are many regulations here, a little bit annoying since we pay almost $300/mo here, I don’t want to constantly be told what I can and cannot do.
Lifetime is always fun with great energy. Amenities are too many to list, but you'll find what you're looking for at this facility if you're wanting health, fitness, or nutrition. Kids academy is great also, for those of us with kids. Just be sure to call in ahead of time to make sure they have open spots available so you can get your fitness on in piece. Pro-tip. Highly recommend.
This is a nice facility, but the overall experience has gone downhill since I joined when it first opened. Pretty much the whole place has been taken over by their training clients or those paying extra for other services. There used to be 2 full basketball courts that my kids could use. Now there's only one other is pickleball & it's either packed, used for daycare, or something else. In the workout area, more space is now restricted to their training clients. Even in the general areaslike squat racks, the training groups take over. Just this week, a trainer & his 2 clients were talking for 5 minutes by a machine.....when I asked if they were using it, he said "yes" & continued to talk there. Rude as hell. Again, if you're not paying for extra services above the base membership....they could care less about your experience.
