LifeCare Hospitals of Pittsburgh operates on four different campuses with a combined capacity of 283 beds and a medical staff of more than 350 physicians. We are accredited by the Join Commission and Medicare certified.
Our hospitals specialize in treatment of medically complex patients who require extended hospitalization. Many patients are transferred to LifeCare after a stay in an intensive care unit and have often experienced multiple system failures.
LifeCare Hospitals of Pittsburgh recently earned Quality Respiratory Care Recognition (QRCR) from the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC). This places our facilities in an elite set of only 15 percent of hospitals in the United States that have received this award.
LifeCare Hospitals of Pittsburgh Suburban Campus opened a new freestanding hospital on the freshly renovated fifth floor of the Allegheny General Hospital Suburban building in November of 2010. The 32-bed facility features state-of-the-art technology including telemetry-capable beds and a high observation unit that allows for in-room cardiac monitoring and long term acute care services for patients recovering from serious injuries or conditions. All rooms accommodate high-intensity services such as dialysis and mechanical ventilation. Two separate rehabilitation areas are dedicated to physical, occupational and speech therapy.
