Beautiful unit, very comfortable stay! We came to Colorado to visit our adult daughter who lives in denver. From Denver, we made our way to Vail for the weekend. It was my husband and my first visit there. We were in awe of of the town and resort! The buildings are beautiful, giving the appearance of a quaint town in Bavaria. Unit 258 in Lion Square Lodge South at the Gondola is beautiful as well. We loved the rustic decor, the bed was extremely comfortable, and other than hearing ski boots on the ground during the daylight hours, the building was very quiet. With snow on the ground but sun in the sky, we went into the hot tub and pool, joined in the wine and cheese get together in our lobby, and had some cocktails in the restaurant there. The location was perfect, right next to one of the lifts. We had perfect weather to top it all off. We would highly recommend renting Lion Square Lodge South, Unit 258, and if we get back to Vail, we will be renting there again!
We had a wonderful stay at Lions Square Lodge. The location was amazing. You walk out the door, down the hall and you are at the Gondola as well as all of the shops and restaurants in the village. The condo was spacious, clean and well stocked. We would definitely stay here again.Rooms: 5/5
We stayed in Unit 154. This condo is an excellent location, unless you like to nap. Great location with the pool area as your patio; however, in the summer, it can get loud with windows open no a/c and kids playing in the pool or cornhole right outside your bedroom window. People talk at the tables just outside your living room until 10pm and that can be a bit annoying. The place, itself, and the staff here were great, though. Very comfortable bed, full kitchen, large couch, strong showerhead, and excellent location next to Lionshead Village and the lift.
Overall this property was absolutely perfect for our 3 day ski trip. We would stay here again without hesitation. Some items to note: Pros: Cleanliness - the room was immaculate and everything was is great working condition. The bathroom showers were insanely clean and the room was like new. Plus, it was awesome to have 2 bathrooms with showers. Room Location - the room was located in a perfect spot Lion Square Lodge South 370. It's on the 3rd floor, but this floor is actually the same level as the entry, front desk, restaurant and exit to the lifts. In other words, you don't have to go up and down stairs with your bags, skis, etc. The room is also far enough away from any common areas and we never heard a sound from doors closing, people talking, etc. Building Location - I always stay in ski-in/ski-out places, but this sets the bar for what a ski-in/ski-out place should be. From the room to the chair-lift took only 2 mins walk. Again, when geared up and walking to the lift, it was awesome to just leave the room, head down the hall and jump on the lift. The lodge is also very close to shops, restaurants and a little grocery store. Parking - when we were there, we didn't have any issue with parking. In fact, we parked right outside the entrance. Best of all, parking is free. Main Bed - super comfortable. Ski Rentals - we rented our skis at charter, which is on the 2nd floor of the lodge. It doesn't get an easier than this. It was really nice to just head down a flight of stairs to get the skis and swap them out if need be. Additionally, the guys that run that location are insanely friendly and helpful. Amenities - I was surprised that the lodge had everything you'd expect from a hotel. Fresh cookies and coffee/tea. Concierge. A staffed front desk. Housekeeping if you need to freshen up the room, etc. The lodge also has complimentary shuttle service to vail village, if you'd like to head over there. This was much easier and more personal than taking the vail bus. Oh, and the Mexican restaurant that is steps from the room is delicious! Cons: Pull-out Sofa Bed: saying the mattress is awful would be an understatement. The floor would be a better option. I highly recommend the owners to replace it if they are serious about this being a sleeping option. Even my son, who sleeps on anything, wouldn't even touch it.
Great location - smack in front of Lionshead Village's East Bahn Gondola w/ the best ski valet at your doorstep! Lots of fun to be had right in Lionshead Village , but also quick & free ride over to Vail Village too. Would def. come back!Rooms: 5/5
The place was wonderful! Love the setting of Lion Square Lodge at the bottom of the mountains. The family had a great time.Rooms: 5/5
THIS PLACE WAS AWESOME AND SO CLOSE TO THE GONDOLA YOU COULD HIT IT WITH SNOW A BALL! THE STAFF WERE EXTREMELY ACCOMMODATING AND ALWAYS PROVIDED EXCELLANT SERVICES. I give this place a high ranking 10!!! I WILL RETURN TO THIS PLACE MANY MORE TIMES!!!
The refrigerator had mold and the headrest had stains. The carpet also had stains. Bathroom was clean. Apart from the location of the lodge there was nothing much to appreciate about it.
We arrived after a 5 hour drive to find the complimentary parking lot was full. We sat in our car for 10 minutes on the phone with the hotel asking what to do and the best they told us was to park in the free lot 10 minutes away and walk back. We weren’t stoked on that but it seemed that was our only option so I ran our bags up to the room quick so we didn’t have to walk with them and realized there was no air conditioning in our room. In July. On the third floor. It was extremely hot. I went to the front desk to ask about the A.C. And she was rather rude when telling me about the box fan option. I feel like 200$+ per night is a lot to spend on a room that doesn’t provide a pretty basis amenity. Also- there is a wooden “barn style” sliding door to the bathroom with no seal and two inch cracks on either side leading into the bedroom. Not everyone is comfortable going about their business in front of the person they are traveling with. Lastly, I went to look for a welcoming packet with information about the property, pool, amenities, restaurants, etc… and there was nothing to help us out with our stay. Again, I find this to be a pretty basic accommodation that was left out of the room. Not very impressed all in all.
Wonderful trip! Condo is beautiful with lovely appointments. Great location. Will definitely return!
