Location is s a great link from I16 to Hwy 341 if you travelling. Plenty of room to stretch your legs and food is available on site. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. It's quiet, even though a big motorcycle group was around.
Golfing and fishing are wonderful. Breakfast a bit, expensive. Rooms are clean and very good air conditioners. Swimming pool is small but very clean and refreshing. A couple of umbrellas, available. Safety: Very safe. Walkability: Easy to walk to different activities. Like the big lake, Putt-putt golf, needs score cards. General store should re-open to sell fishing licenses and live bait.
Came for a reunion. The rooms appeared cleaned however the laundry smelled musty. There were a few small roaches found walking across the headboard. The room phones didn’t work at all. The breakfast was 15.00 for yogurt, cheerios sausage bacon and clumpy grits. They need to come down on that price seeing as how it’s not made to order nor was is good.
If you were under the age of 55, do not waste your time. This is a State Park only and name, it’s actually just a golf course. The welcome center and convention area is terribly out of date and looks like a slightly newer version of a motel six. We did not stay to eat the food however, they were an off a lot of people going to it, I assume it is good. The golf course was completely slammed. Full with about 200 old men playing golf. Never saw anyone under the age of 40. I am not being disrespectful. It was just very odd. We could not find the Cabins to do a review. They seem to be hidden somewhere within the RV camp lot.. We will not go back. Have no interest in the state park does not seem to offer much of anything other than golf.
Camped here, Memorial Day. Grat location and super nice staff. They have a campground, hotel, tennis courts,Lake and wvena golf course. The on-site restaurant, mulligans has a sportsbar vibe and serves typical bar food. Burgers, wings etc. Good food though.Service: 4/5
This is one of the best state parks I’ve been to in Georgia. I just needed to stretch my legs while passing through on my 3-4 hour travel trip. I had no idea there were Sandhills in Georgia. The trail I walked had white sandhill trails and to top it off there were so many Sparkleberry bushes in bloom. On a sunnier day there would have been a lot of butterflies.
A heads up- Unlike most hotels I was required to make a full payment for the rooms upon check-in. You don't receive an emailed receipt until check-out. Perhaps this is common with State Park Lodges? The stay hasn't happened yet so I can't attest to the facilities. Service is friendly.
Love the place. Rooms were updated and very, very nice. People at the golf course were very pleasant and great to get along with. Hope to go back.Rooms: 5/5
We weathered a hurricane here in our RV. Super impressed by the park, employees, food, and camping. We will be back often.Service: 5/5
Super nice 18 hole course. Great camping area for campers. Nice lake for swimming and boating. Friendly staff.
