Living History Park

About

The Living History Park is a 7.5 acre park with natural springs that provides a hands-on educational experience into the history of our area. Over 20,000 people visit annually.

"Located in North Augusta, South Carolina, the Living History Park is a re-creation of a village dating from 1735 to 1785 and is managed by an all-volunteer staff. Among its meandering paths are 19 structures that are representative of the way of life during the Colonial era. It is open daily for guests to explore the grounds unless closed for a private event. The park buildings are open and you can interact with historical interpreters during the public events. All OTPA Colonial era events are open to the public at no cost. The Park can be rented for special occasions. Please check our website to make sure we are open before you visit."

I visited early in the morning and it was very peaceful. The grounds are well-maintained, and they utilized the space very effectively. I can see how this is very informative and educational, especially for the children. It's a great place to step back in time for a few minutes, or just to go and relax.
It's open to the public where you walk along a path and see old building replicas. They are all locked maybe because it wasn't an event day and some buildings were boarded up entirely, which is sad. But it was a nice little outing and the grounds are pretty. It's not a huge park, so if you want just a little nature walk and not spend more than an hour, this is a nice option.
This park is amazing! I will just take artists in the community here to get inspired! I've not been to the events they host but it's kind of hidden away and seems very unique! It's always kept in good shape too, so I don't know who does the upkeep, but great work! Thank you!
This park is beautiful, and always a great photo opp weddings are often booked here, and other events. I love that I can bring my son here to explore nature, no other distractions just the stream, flowers and each other.
This was our first time going to the Living History Park and it was incredible to say the least. The park is definitely a hidden gem in the area, hidden by trees and shrubs you all most miss it if you are not looking for it. I have been to other parks such as this one in Virginia and it's a must see. All the participants are great and you can tell they love what they do. Our favorites were the blacksmith and the mill. 10/10 would highly recommend.
This is such an amazing property!! Beautiful for weddings, Events, baby showers, corporate events, etc. The property is filled with beautiful spaces, diverse history, and unique stories. The property manager and curator, Lynn, is an absolute delight. She is knowledgeable and passionate. You must tour this exquisite piece of North Augusta history! Every brick, every building, every plant, has a colorful and unique story behind it.
The park is clean and picturesque. Lots of old buildings and history, but all boarded up. You cannot access the inside of any of them it’s just the view of the exterior. The walking trail is not stroller or handicap friendly, lots of stairs. Cannot pull into the park at all with vehicle. No on site parking. There is a run down playground with parking in front of the park.
This was a great stop!! Wasnt clear on where to park when we were coming out some local folks told us that was up around road parking but what a gem of a place if you like old settings there is a natural spring that runs through the middle one other family was there when we were was really neat.
You pay donation fee to go to park mainlanders fees. Street parking. There is also a decent size playground outside the park.
Awesome idea and place but none of the buildings were open and no employees, only an app and that's not fun. When are the buildings actually open with people inside??? This place could be amazing and my daughter loved it but I had to guess at what everything is and what for because with a daughter I don't have time to pull up the app and listen to some british guy explaining stuff that's not relevant to what we are wanting to learn about
