Los 3 Reales is a great family place with authentic Mexican food!
Los 3 Reales opened its doors at 1110 NW 2nd Street in late September. The restaurant is at the site of the former El Presidente, but the similarities end there. The new owners have made some big changes, including renovating most of the interior.
They have an extensive menu, It includes a great variety of appetizers, vegetarian and seafood options along with traditional favorites. Los Tres Reales also offers daily food and drink specials, and happy hour specials from 3 to 6 p.m. weekdays. Specialty favorites will be added to the regular menu periodically so things will see the occasional change-up.
I recently took the plunge and had dinner at Los Tres Reales. Greeted and seated immediately, within minutes our waiter appeared with chips, salsa, and a delicious refried bean dip. Then it was time for drinks; our waiter patiently explained our options, of which there are plenty, including several mouthwatering margarita flavors. I decided on a margarita, which is far from my beverage of choice due to my strong distaste for tequila. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it; the tequila was balanced perfectly with the strawberry flavor and tasted so good that I had to order a second round.
After hearing how proud the owners are of their menu, I was excited to try the cuisine. I began with the tortilla soup which was a delightful mix of pulled chicken, cheese, avocado chunks, and crispy tortilla strips, a great treat for a dreary Corvallis evening! Then it was on to the chicken quesadilla, a simple yet tasty dish which would be a great lunch or start to any dinner option. And then I indulged in a few fajitas, which were exceptional; both the chicken and steak pieces were perfectly seasoned and served with all the fixings. It made for a pleasantly fulfilling meal.
Price wise, Los Tres Reales offers lunch options starting at $6.95, dinners from $8.95 to $16, and larger dishes made for sharing for $29. It also offers several TVs, a full bar, patio seating, and a conference room for parties and events. They seem to have more than enough going on for themselves to keep customers coming back for more.
