I rented a tuxedo from Louis Thomas. The entire process was positive--I showed up 1-2 weeks prior to my event and got my measurements taken by the owner, Tom. -1 star: The price was well above average for a typical tuxedo rental even for Marin County! -1 star: Tom, the owner, is rough around the edges. He does not have a "customer service" mentality and has a habit of criticizing customer's attire. Overall, if you are willing to pay extra for a high quality tuxedo and have thick skin, this place is for you. If you have a strict budget and are thin skinned/easily offended, rent your tuxedo elsewhere.
Tom was an absolute gem to work with. I needed a tuxedo rental last minute for a party and he got me outfitted on my lunch break in 15 minutes flat and knew my exact measurements with one quick glance. This is the kind of expertise you want when getting fitted for a special occasion. Thank you Tom. I will definitely be back!
Probably the RUDEST sales people or owners?? Hoping owners wouldn’t act like this?! we could ever come across… I wish I could give them zero stars. Came in because my brother is interested in getting a suit for his wedding. They made fun of his wedding venue and they made fun of the color suit he was interested in and totally belittled him. Please don’t shop here, there are so many awesome apparel shops to spend your money at where the staff will actually care about their customers. On their website they say — “Our knowledgeable staff is happy to help with any questions you may have.” Louis Thomas, you may want to remove this sentence so people don’t actually think your staff is going to be friendly and helpful. I would hate for other people to waste their time, like my brother did.
Extremely rude owner and lack of appreciation for the customers that keep them in business. Rental suits are overpriced for what you get, much higher quality places with better prices throughout San Francisco and even Marin. Avoid.
Louis Thomas saved the prom when Men's Warehouse notified us they had accidentally lost my son's 3 week preordered tuxedo rental 5 hours before Prom and they were not going to substitute another! Terrific service, elegant choices and actually a lot better pricing then Men's Warehouse, they were also really nice, Men's Warehouse could not have been more unhelpful! Thank you so much!!
Tom and Brianna are legitimate fashion experts; people who have an eye for future trends and are adept at helping you to find your style. The garments I pick up at Louis Thomas are inevitably the ones I wear for important meetings, big dates, and other events where you want to look and feel your best. The transformation is Clark Kent to Superman when you go from Nordstrom or Banana Republic "fashion" to clothing from Louis Thomas. It's honestly hard to go back to wearing anything else once you start wearing outfits that fit the era, your style, and your body/build as well as the stuff from this shop does.
One of only two real men's clothiers in Marin County. Exceptional service and original collection that is updated regularly. Casual to formal wear available.
