I love this place so much. The views are insane. And the bridge is so cool to walk across because it’s so high. I think the marking of the trails could be better because I got lost because it didn’t say the trail ended and then trails get mixed with other trails and it’s a hot mess.
It was warm out but otherwise a nice short walk to the water..the bridge at the beginning was a nice start to the walk. Couple of nice views from up top at the lookout points.. It's a out and back trail with a slight incline
Pretty quiet, not too crowded. Quite scenic with fall colors. We followed a few trails through the woods but weren't sure how deep to go now that the sun sets earlier. It was a nice excursion to spend some time outdoors and enjoy the foliage. It's sad to see how some people don't respect nature...there was a pile of trash that included a lawn chair, garden hose, oscillating fan and miscellaneous trash/empty packages, water bottles, etc. along one of the paths. Restrooms: There was a port-a-potty on site. The lock was broken and the accommodations seemed to not be cleaned/maintained on a frequent enough basis...
Beautiful view hidden away, was very pleasantly surprised. The hike to get up here was super easy too, more of a trail walk
A must see, great area to explore take a lock for the bridge
Beautiful overlook of the housatonic river and some interesting stone ruins of a botting factory. We went at the end of October when there was beautiful fall foliage.
Beautiful little park that I wish I'd gotten to explore more of! I love seeing the locks on the bridge and thinking about the stories behind them. The views are great if you're able to take the walk up the incline to the top. I have a spine disability that makes inclines difficult sometimes and I was able to get up this without stopping in about 8-10 minutes. I'm from out of town but if I'm ever back I'll be visiting again!
Beautiful history and scenery on this trail. Just when you think you've done the trail, past the bridge you find new paths that lead you way up yo the top of the mountain. The views overlooking Lake Lillinoah are priceless. Plus you get a good workout in.
Excellent hike, relatively easy with some excellent views. We only did one of the three trails today, will be going back to see the others soon! Update: Day 2 we did the Castle/Tea House loop. Very cool and worth the extra mileage.
Great park with multiple trails overlooking the river from both sides. Plenty of parking. Beautiful bridge, ruins, and overlooks all in one park! Lots of down trees if you are looking to do the overlook trail above the ruins so be careful! Trails are also not clearly marked so take a pic of sign before you head out as I also couldn’t find any trails on the Gaia app.
