I think one of the best ways to judge a company is by how they respond and react during the most difficult of circumstances. We had the misfortune of being in Fort Myers on our vacation when hurricane Ian struck. We had to evacuate the rental property where we were staying. Naturally, we had many questions for Luxury Vacation Rentals, which was the agency handling our Vrbo booking. Mike and Renee were very good about answering our calls, and if they couldn't answer at the time we called, they always called back promptly. This was remarkable considering they were dealing with many other renters, as well as trying to keep their own families safe during this terrible time. We were concerned about the money we would potentially lose due to the fact that we had to evacuate the property which we had paid for, and there was a no refunds policy. However, Luxury Vacation Rentals made sure we did not lose the money for the unused nights after the mandatory evacuation order. Overall, they were reliable, responsive, and responsible, and we wouldn't hesitate to book through them in the future.
I have never had such poor customer service in my life. My wife booked a 5 night stay for our family in Ft. Myers and several days later, without notice, our reservation was cancelled alleging that the system had a “glitch” and we were not supposed to book less than 7 nights. We weren’t offered the chance to extend our reservation by 2 more nights, and soon it became apparent why. They informed us they had a 9 night reservation instead. When calling to understand why this happened, the associate Renee hung up on my wife, and then on me. DO NOT book with this team. They will cancel your reservation if something better comes their way. Now I must find something else for my family who already made plans to travel and meet us there. UNPROFESSIONAL!! Take your business elsewhere.
