This is a great stop. Volunteers have great historic stories In an old courthouse with open air jail house under nicknamed the mosquito dungeon.
We didn't have any set ticket price as we had a large party here for some family members that was catered. So I don't know if they normally charge an entrance fee, but we got to see everything since we were there. The place was really nice.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entryFree
Super cute museum detailing the history of the area. Part of it is upstairs where they sell books. The lady working when I visited stated they have limited hours, but could talk all day about the history. Downstairs, they have a mock up of what used to be the local jail with stories of repeat offenders and locals. It was all quaint and small town. I really got the feeling that the docent wished there were more to the museum and that more people came. It was just so special.
For a small museum it has a lot to offer. Talk to the staff and learn cool things. Old original jail on the first floor was a good experience.
Had a nice adventure w my girls and learned a ton about Madisonville!
