Small museum but extremely nice. Gives a thorough history of Louisiana’s maritime culture. Only $8 per person for adult entry. Beautiful yachts and homes nearby.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entry$6–10
Great Museum. Lot of history about Lake Pontchartrain packed into this museum.
Brilliant little museum that crams a LOT of history in a small space. There are numerous films as well, from 4 to 57 minutes long. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and accommodating. They also host events; they were prepping for a wedding reception while I was there.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entry$6–10
We saw a sign for this place and stopped. We were pleasantly surprised. Great place for the money. We had to hurry through as it was going to close in an hour. I think we could of spent more time to listen to some of the movies. They had lots of information on lighthouses, old outboard engines, sailboats etc. Very informative of the area. Displays were very nice as well.
Fantastic place to learn about the history of the waterways of south Louisiana lots of history. Definitely a must see if your local or into maritime history. The staff was helpful and knowledgeable. Also home of the annual wooden boat festival. Also wooden boat building classes available
Cool museum. They do boat building underneath. The venue for events is also nice. Friendly staff.
Wonderful place for history
Awesome little museum. They also have a boat building and knot tying class. On this particular weekend they had a festival and a 2 day boat building contest. It's a beautiful addition to a cute little town.
My first time visiting! It was a great experience, especially since I attended an awesome workshop there! I plan to go again soon.
It’s very educational…
