At MAGNOLIA'S HOME CARE our purpose is to keep families together promoting unity, independence of the family in problem solving and maintenance of the family as the primary responsible care taker. To determine if barriers to home placement for persons with disabilities can be eliminated through financial assistance for purchase of services, special equipment and supplies. To allow persons with disabilities to remain in or return to family setting as an alternative to placement in a more restrictive setting. To link families with existing support services and to supplement those services where necessary. To allow persons with disabilities to remain independent at the same time helping with everyday simple functions.The program consist of each participant being assessed and receiving daily services such as; grooming, bathing, dressing, ambulation, light housing keeping, medication reminder, companionship and more depending on their chosen program and/or assessment.
Mrs. Emilie Duhon, Owner and Executive Director of Magnolia’s Home Care LLC.; understood and believed at a very young age that hard work and being of service to others began in the home. Growing up with parents who worked very long days with a purpose, which was to provide for their family with love and dedication; instilling a drive to succeed was valued throughout her life. In 2004 Emilie realized quickly where her service and guidance was most needed. Knowing she wanting to make a difference, already having a sibling who was utilizing disability programs; it became very clear how gratifying it would be to contribute her time by helping elderly and disabled citizens live a more meaningful life while remaining in the place closest to their hearts; In their homes. Emilie learned the kind of dedication, time, and compassion it took to care for a family and knew in her heart; that she had the ability to seek and employ a staff of caregivers that possessed these same characteristics. People that would be capable of providing the kind of care she grew up relying upon. Care that would make clients feel safe and comfortable in their day to day activities, the same type of care she would want someone to give her own family. While preparing for licensing and questioning other agencies, Emilie learned that most agencies were doing the just the norm to stay under the radar of following the rules and regulations of the state of Louisiana.
