France has many beautiful regions, all very proud of their local cuisine, but Lyon is the capital of French gastronomy and that is where Stephanie grew up and developed her love for cooking and eating. Stephanie’s childhood was made of picking up natural fruits and vegetables in the backyard. Stephanie learned to use what every season had to offer and respectfully execute different recipes everyday. Diners were a critical part of family life: a moment to share stories, hopes and concerns. Later Stephanie used her experience and skills to prepare meals for the employees that were helping at her grandparents’ winery. Today Stephanie remains true to these values, she continues to grow her own vegetables on her upper west side terrace for her husband and son, and she looks forward to sharing this passion for simple and family meals.
Marine is from another unbelievable region of France, one that is no stranger to many Americans because of their parents and grandparents landing on the beaches of Normandie to liberate the country during World War 2. Less known for its food than for the famous paintings showcased in New York City museums, the region offers plenty of high quality products for the best meals. It was at Marine’s grandfather's property where Marine discovered apple picking, cows, and the harvesting of vegetables and eggs. The memory of very large, wonderful family lunches on Sundays influenced the education of her four children. Providing fresh and homemade food for her children every day in downtown Manhattan certainly requires commitment, energy and love. What may sound daunting to some, Marine has made look simple and effortless. Marine will share her many recipes for healthy meals, and the benefits of eating well for your petits et grands cuistots.
