Melissa's Project acts as a liaison between persons with severe and persistent mental illness and the range of systems and processes in which they are involved by coordinating, guiding, and overseeing all aspects of their care.

Melissa's Project is Guardian ad Litem Services' core program, and is based on the Guardian Model of mental healthcare management established in 2002. Our mission is to be an innovator in the effort to:
Empower persons with mental illness who receive services to act as partners with providers, policy makers, and family members or guardians
Ensure that services meet their expressed needs and wishes
Improve overall care in the public mental health system
