If you're looking for a small, hometown private practice.. this is definitely the office you want for your children! The longest staff member has been there for almost 50 years. All of the nurses have been there for so long, that says a lot about the office! Dr Vega and Dr Cay are both really patient and calm doctors. If we ever have a question about our child's health, they personally call you back. If we need to be squeezed in for a sick call or if we are running late for our appointment, the staff never turns us away. They're always accommodating our needs. You don't get that at a clinic or a corporate office. They really bend more than others do. There are lesser reviews than mine, but some doctors just aren't a match for some people. That's ok..but this office really is better than others!
I'm new to CT. I'm not sure about the other reviews, but when I called for the first time I knew this is where I wanted my children to be. The woman on the phone was warm and welcoming. She was the same at the front desk. The MA's are kind, introduce themselves and are genuine in their interactions. Chelsea is top of the line! She was so sweet to my baby girl and listens well. She is diligent and made my husband and I feel so comfortable. I trust this team wholeheartedly. My only suggestion, which is so minor is transfer paper charts to EMR, and when giving vaccines, give handouts on information regarding what your child is receiving as well as things to look for in the following days e.g. fever, pain, side effects, can I give pain medicine and how much. Business cards/magnets would be great. As a new patient, If I have a concern after hours, not sure if there's an answering service at night, or if I should go to the ER, etc.
I have been here for 15 years now. Over the years yes some people have been rude isn't that everywhere you go there is always one but they have hired new staff which have proven themselves to be patient and polite. The staff that have been there for way too long Denise, Mel and Dee are some of the nicest you will meet. This is a business like any other Don't abuse and disrespect the staff. You Don't need to come in for a runny nose they will guide you as to what to do. As to these parents saying Dr. Vega is too fast and rushes you out....really? Get to the point and address your concerns. Who wants to be in a doctor's office longer than you have to be. Not me. You can never please everyone. Just respect one another.
We went to go see Chelsea APRN. She was amazing. My daughter has been congested for months and our last doctor never listened to me. Chelsea took her time to exam her. She listened to my concerns and gave us the referral we needed to see a specialist.
Some of The office staff is unbelievably very rude! I say some because a few of the ladies are very sweet, but I was shocked at just how unprofessional and rude a few were. They snapped at me twice in one visit! No wonder this office has a 1/5 star rating. I would give zero stars if I could, do yourself a favor and find a different place to look after your babies..
When Dr. Kay was there she was amazing but then Chelsea came and she is and was amazing I wish I knew where she is going I would absolutely follow her to the next dr..my son adores her and actually looked forward to the dr when he needed..Chelsea you will be greatly missed by all..
This has got to be the worst pediatrician office around. I will be transfering my children to another office as soon as I get home. Our visit today took the cake. My daughter left in tears as she had seen Dr Kay. She had told the Dr that she has trouble breething sometimes when shes in choir singing, she did not take her seriously at all and told her to stop singing! She belittles me everytime we have seen her, talks to me like im an idiot, and is very stuck up and rude. The male doctor rushes us out of the room everytime, and is also very rude. My son needed a shot and was in tears very scared, instead of trying to make him more comfortable, the Dr raised his voice and made it worse like we were a huge bother. We havent even had an ok experience yet. Theres not much for the kids to do there while their waiting either besides a huge plastic outside toy house, make sure your kids arent having too much fun, fair warning.. The reception desk ladies are extremely rude, and good luck trying to get a Drs note for school! I tried giving them the bennefit of the doubt, but this has been an every visit deal. I will NEVER bring my children back there. Oh one more thing.. theres a nurse there that is pregnant, clearly..make sure your child doesnt get in her way or accidently drop his or her coat on the floor near her, she wont be able to handle it, and will be sure to let you know. Darn shame.
The doctors are very rushed, barely address concerns. Some of the office staff is super friendly, some are demeaning. I will say that they are good on short notice and my daughter loves their waiting area.
This office is pretty bad. Some of the ladies at the front desk are rude and demanding. They also have a recording that says they're open until 5 but they leave as soon as the last appointment leaves. AND the phones are always busy in the morning. These issues make it very difficult to book and appointment. My kid is sick and I couldn't schedule an appointment today.I don't have a problem with any of the doctors but I will be bringing my son somewhere else.
Staff is extremely rude! I took my 2 children there a few times to see Dr. Thomas who was wonderful but she retired in December. I went to have my 7 month old daughters ears peirced and what a disaster! The doctor that did it had to peirce one ear twice because of it being un even...when I took my daughter home I had to remove it! I took her back and the same thing happened for the 3rd time...Im still waiting to be reimbursed. My son whom is 3 must have had bad vibes about this doctors iffice because everytime we went there he completly acted out. We have transferred to a new pediatrician having to travel farther but my son is on his best behavior when seen now...Thankful we switched!
