Melvin's Place of Bbq

Melvin's BBQ is absolutely tremendous. He makes literally everything from scratch every day, including his own sauce. Get there early on the weekends for his pie. $15 for the sheer quality AND quantity is insanity. The ribs and pulled pork were perfect in every way. Everyone should come by and fight for a spot at lunch.

This place is exactly the sort of authentic BBQ experience that a traveller like me is looking for. Melvin's service is fast and no nonsense. You arrive, you get a plate and you pay about $13. That comes with baked beans, some of the best potato salad I've had and a bottle of water. The ribs were crispy where they should be, pink where they should be, and just delicious. The smell of the smoker and some ambient easy listening music makes this a must see!

As most people posted...it doesn't look like much, but the BBQ PORK was amazing. I am also not usually a pototoe salad person...but Melvins is really good. I will definitely go back.

We ate here today and it was amazing. The food was straight off the smoker. Best ribs and bbq. Melvin was an amazing guy. After we ate, he told us stories of him winning cook offs. I could have talked to him all day. If you want great food from an amazing owner then please give him a try. We will definitely be back.

This is an unexpected gem! The food is delicious! I ordered a pork plate and there was enough for 2 meals. My friends ordered sandwiches and they were huge. My potato salad was just like what I grew up with, mashed with mustard and mayo as well as pickles. I can't wait to go back

The BEST BARBECUE in Huntsville hands down. The customer service is amazing and the food is more than amazing its phenomenal. Everything is $15 except pulled pork sandwiches. But its enough for two to eat off of. 2 sides beans and potato salad which are delicious as well. I definitely will be back SOON!!!!!

Found this place last night just before closing time. I ordered a slab of spare ribs hoping they would meet my expectations. I have eaten many of ribs in my day, i lived in Memphis for two years and was able to experience every nook and cranny the city had to offer. I tell you what though these ribs were the best spare ribs i have ever eaten! Hands down no comparison! Just as tender as could be but still had that bite it off the bone feel. They had beautiful smoke ring and even better smokey flavor, I was in meat heaven last night!

My group came to Melvin's BBQ after visiting Glenwood Cemetery. Melvin did not disappoint. The meats were tender and succulent. Everyone enjoyed their meal. I've lived in Huntsville for 5 years and discovered the best kept secret place for good BBQ.

I looked for good barbeque from Seattle to Georgia. By far, 'Melvins Barbecue' is absolutely the best!!! The meat chicken and ribs were tender and full of flavor. The portion size was quite large and the prices reasonable. I really really enjoyed my meal!!! The baked beans and potato salad were on point! I can hardly wait to visit again!

Melvin knows what he's doing. Like he said "You ain't never had nothing like this." I promise you cannot go wrong with anything you get here. I called him up last minute for help to feed 20 people. He told me to come on over and he'd fix me up. Well he fixed me up with the best tasting ribs, chicken, pulled pork, slaw, potato salad and extra sauce for 40 people even though I only needed to feed 20Extremely delicious, extremely fair prices. Everyone love, love, loved the food and I highly recommend you go to Melvin's! I promise you ain't never had nothing like it and you'll be back as soon as you can!
