The mission of the Mercer Island Police Department is to contribute to Mercer Island's reputation as a safe, friendly, economically thriving community in which to live, work, learn, play and visit.
The Mission of Mercer Island Emergency Management is to have Mercer Island be self sufficient for at least 7 days -- this includes city government, city staff, citizens, businesses, schools, and the faith community. Following a major disaster public safety and emergency medical services are often overwhelmed and may not be available to respond to most calls.
