Miami Children's Hospital Ambulatory Surgery Center

I have been here for 3 of my child’s surgeries. It has changed a little. When you turn into the area there will be a parking lot on left that says patient parking. You can park but it’s time consuming and hard to find. Bring $5 for valet. When you go in go to the light and make a left and then a left and the next light and go straight it will show you the valet area for the Nicklaus center. The valet was super nice and he came in and gave me my keys and had parked it right where they could wheel him from recovery so I didn’t have to go down for the car it was very kind. Check in was easy. We were there about two hours. You register and check in, they call you to back basic questions, surgeon will come in and anesthesiologist, then they will come and take patient to ER. You go back to waiting room and they come out within 30 min and the surgeon talks to you. Then they tell you he is in recovery and you will be called in. They call you in recovery explain everything to you, help with anything you need and then they help take child safely to vehicle. Great experience!

We had a wonderful experience here. From the moment we entered until the moment we left the facility we were treated with utmost care. Our daughter felt very comfortable before, during, and after her procedure. Communication with parents was also great.

The surgeon was the only good thing there. Everything else was awful. Registration had the wrong Date of Birth. And when they take your child in its traumatizing to the point that after surgery my son wakes up to what he last remembered. Then at discharge they didnt even allow him to finish his saline bag and he still has not urinatinted 12 hours later while trying to push fluids to a toddler who is post op and in pain to swallow. Do not recommed this place to anyone with small children. They have ill equiped staff not properly trained in bedside manner for toddlers .

Never been treated better. Staff was amazing with our son. Well trained , polite, very caring staff all around. Dr Torres was one of a kind, greatest doctor we have come across. Very kind and explained everything in detail. Thank you to all staff and administration for providing such a great experience for my son and family.

My daughter and I loved all the doctors especially Shaffiey and his group while doing the procedure on her. Absolutely amazing they were so sweet and made her feel extremely comfortable!

The facility is good but be VERY AWARE of the billing department. After offering a payment plan since we don’t have insurance, not only did they not honor but but furthermore they went ahead and charged me twice for the procedure.

Let me tell you how long we had to wait for a 15 min operation. 2 and a half hours to get you in the changing room then another hour sitting on a bed with the iv in your arm and the rest is history to be continued

They wait time was horrible 3 hours in the waiting area and 2 hours sitting on the bed waiting for the 10 minute procedure. Definitely go somewhere that gives realistic appointments this place is a joke.
