Absolutely beautiful library. Quiet, very clean. Historical collections are outstanding, and the displays are entertaining. Staff is knowledgeable and approachable. My special needs teenage son now comes here to study every day, to be removed from the noise and chaos of having a toddler at home, so he can actually focus, over several other MCPL and KCPL branches he's tried. Bonus points for being open later than any other branch we've found, every day of the week.
Loved coming here to do some family history! I meant to go for about an hour and explore, maybe use their computers a bit. I got on a computer and before I knew it, 4 hours went by. The atmosphere and staff were perfect for the vibe needed to focus and be productive.
Fantastic place to research. Everyone was so helpful. Found info for so many different states. Can't wait to go back.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitPrice for adult entryFree
Always Top Notch people working in the center. Very knowledgeable. Friendly. I use them a lot. Never ever had the slightest complaint from me. Always always friendly people.
This is a place where I can focus and concentrate without distraction. That's one big thing I'm looking for in a library. Many times, public libraries can be loud with children's programs, etc. This branch is quiet. I love being able to study and focus when I come here. It is also one of the most aesthetically beautiful libraries in the area.
Wow! This is a great resource for Kansas City area residents. A beautiful building, with outstanding employees able to help the experienced and novice genealogists with their searches. I'd recommend reserving a computer in advance to ensure you can use their online resources as well.
Great Genealogy Center when you get the right person working the room. This last visit was not very good, maybe the staff is still getting acclimated to returning to work. 1st I needed my sign-in ID # - lady at front desk wrote it wrong. 2nd it's been a while the woman working the room didn't/could give me a quick update on how to search information. Not a very productive day maybe next time.
Excellent business for all one's genealogical needs. Most extensive compilation of resources in the Mid-West I've seen. Well staffed by knowledgeable people. Lots of room for quiet study. Computers are available and quick. Open seven day a week, various hours; however. Large modern facilities.
This is, by far, the best genealogical library I have seen outside of Salt Lake City. The staff was amazing, helpful, and friendly. Their catalog consists of a huge number of genealogy related books, thousands of rolls of microfilm, and much, much more. The staff is always willing to help, and is absolutely passionate about family history. A MUST for any genealogist, whether professional or amateur.
Every country, state and county under one roof. The perfect place for any genealogist to spend hours. The staff is very helpful if you need assistance in finding information.
