The Minneapolis Police Reserve is an auxiliary unit of the Minneapolis Police Department.
Our Officers come from a wide variety of backgrounds, occupations, lifestyles, ages, and cultures. Officers in their twenties work side-by-side with officers in their sixties. Our officers have come from all corners of the city, and two-thirds of reserve officers reside outside of Minneapolis.

The Minneapolis Police Reserve is a volunteer unit, requiring a ten hour monthly commitment from its officers. Minimum qualifications: citizen of the United States, at least 18 years of age, have a good driving record, and no criminal history. Must maintain First Aid and CPR certifications if selected. Candidates whose applications have been accepted will be invited to a two-part oral interview, and are required to set up an appointment with the Minneapolis Police Department's backgrounds unit.
