We are a conservation organization composed of a diverse group of men and women dedicated to protecting our nation's soil, air, woods, water and wildlife.
The Izaak Walton League was formed in 1922 to save outdoor America for future generations. We are one of the earliest conservation organizations to set an aggressive course to defend wild America by changing public policy. Almost every major, successful conservation program that America has in place today can be traced directly to a League activity or initiative.
With a powerful grassroots network of more than 250 local chapters nationwide, the League takes a common-sense approach toward protecting our country's natural heritage and improving outdoor recreation opportunities for all Americans. We invite you to learn about our work and to join us in supporting important conservation initiatives in your community.
Many people enjoy and use the outdoors. With that enjoyment comes responsibility. No one knows this better than an Ike. What is an Ike? An Ike is an angler, an outdoor enthusiast, a hunter, a hiker, a watcher of wildlife. Men, women, and youth who share a love of the outdoors and a commitment to conservation. An Ike is a member of the Izaak Walton League.
"To conserve, maintain, protect and restore the soil, forest, water, and other natural resources of the United States and other lands; to promote means and opportunities for the education of the public with respect to such resources and their enjoyment and wholesome utilization."
