Modesto Amtrak Station Park & Ride

Very clean station with a relaxed comfortable atmosphere. Ample short- and long-term parking. One of the best-kept Amtrak stations in California. You may get a “Sweetums the Cat” sighting too when visiting the antique train on premises!

more people should be utilizing this station - it's great! parking overnight is also safe, i've done it multiple times, even outside of the protected/gated lot. we need to be trying to stay off the highways when we can.

Never had any problems at this station. It's clean and quiet for the most part, but it's also secluded. I definitely wouldn't recommend parking and leaving your cars here in the lot though, because it does NOT look like it would be safe. From an observation point I'm saying it's a gated lot, but I don't see any security patrolling it. It's sad you have to consider these kind of things now, but it's reality.

The train system in the United States is an absolute joke. This raggedy train is now over 30 minutes late and counting. If high speed rail ever gets done it will be a nightmare too.

A quick stop on the way to the bay area. If you are traveling through the central valley. The train might be a good option. Very few people traveling now during covid-19.

Amazing you are in a city over 200,00 population and you have an easy to drive get to rural train station.

Clean safe station, which is staffed and offers vending and restrooms. It’s on the edge of town so Uber and Lyft are not very reliable, however there is usually a taxi out front. It’s always recommended to purchase your tickets on the app so you don’t need a paper ticket.

This is a considerably relaxing and clean place to wait... Pleasantly safe and serene surroundings as it's enclosed by classic Modesto almond orchards. Just being here actually makes me enjoy the train more.

It's a decent Amtrak station, I suppose. Bummer that it's closed for the last few trains, which means no restroom, no access to vending machines, and no indoor seating. Riding from 8am - 5pm? Good to go. Before or after that? Not so good.
