Been going camping here the last 5 years and until this weekend, we have never had a terrible experience. And considering going else where. We understood check in was at 4pm but wanted to see if we would be able to check in early because we have done it every years. The staff at check in hut stated the previous person has no checked out since it was only 1:30pm. Which wasn’t an issue because it wasn’t 2 yet since that is checkout time. It didn’t become an issue until the staff said he was in San Fransisco working and hasn’t packed up his belongings yet. When 2pm came we asked if we could at least go sit in day parking area because we are from out of town and have nowhere to go. They wanted us to pay for day parking even though we already paid for camping for 3 days. Once we were finally let it we just had to wait for the previous person to come back from work. The park supervisor came and talked to us and kept insisting that he would be back by 4pm. 530pm comes around and the guy finally shows up. The way the staff dealt with the situation was super unprofessional and they were all being rude as if it was our fault this situation happened. This is one way to lose a very loyal customer
Nice place to camp. I recommend booking further into grounds and reserve along A loop to avoid congestion and side by side tents from other campers. Campers may arrive late into the night. The showers and bathrooms are fairly clean and the camp grounds are clean as well. The water is low in some areas but deeper swimming waters are not too far away from each camp. A-loop site has water and electricity for hook up.
Went to a day party which was very good. But as you can see that Cajun French toast. I had to send back. Oh, no, baby, can't eat that. But the Burger my husband had was good. By the way, we were at a club? I can't think of the name of the club in Modesto at this time. I'll post about the club later.
Beautiful sunset and relaxing view. Water is very chilled and a good spot for family summer time get away. Only thing is …there are many garbages or left over plastic materials on the campsites and on the lake. Restroom is oki, but needs extra cleaning and lights. Too many many many many flies and spidersssss. My tent, table, cooler, chairs and sandals are full of spiders and their webs in the morning. Need to deep clean from inside out for 1 night. Well…cannot expect too much for $50 per campsite/night + $35 per vehicle right!!??
I'm a seasonal worker there its a good family place.. desent fishing and swimming.
This place has a beautiful view of the water with alot of picnic BBQ pits and tables. A good place to bring family and kids. Has boat launch and fishing is allowed. Although this reservoir is occasionally stocked, there was no luck in fishing.
Love Woodward and Modesto Reservoirs! I catch a lot of fish at both! Clean Restrooms and super friendly workers at both!
Easter Egg Hunt. Great event for kids & family. It was a very nice day. Bounce house, fire truck, train rides, free life jackets. We drove thru campground. Very clean & nice. Day use area with nice & clean tables & great grills & all clean.
I got baptized with my son through our church House of Rest in Modesto and was an amazing experience I will never forget. Thank you Jesus
Great place for a lake day! Although I wish everyone would clean up their trash. We need to keep our lakes and rivers clean from garbage!
