Momentum Personal Training is a personal training facility with expertise on improving the performance of student athletes with traditional strength training and conditioning.
Laniel Crawford, the owner and trainer at Momentum Personal Training, was a high school All-State and All-American athlete in football and track. He was a student athlete at Duke University with both football and track scholarships, where he lettered as a defensive back in 1974 and 1975. Laniel graduated in 1976 with a BA in History and signed as a free agent with the Kansas City Chiefs, but left due to a knee injury.
After 32 years of experience in banking operations, Laniel retired to open Momentum Personal Training in 2009. Laniel's background growing up in a low-income situation brings an unparallelled breadth and depth of experience to helping develop successful student-athletes, particularly those with very little resources, For more than 30 years, Laniel provided guidance and personal training, while also coaching and providing assistance at the youth and high school levels in football, track, basketball, volleyball, soccer and baseball. Currently, he is a full-time trainer and the driving force behind Momentum’s athletic program and philosophy.
