The Monroe County Health Department offers immunizations, lead screenings, pregnancy testing, STD/HIV testing, newborn home visits, school health nursing and flu vaccinations. Other public services offered include blood pressure screening, glucose screening, tuberculosis testing and cholesterol screenings.
We offer a once monthly Family Planning clinic by appointment only.
WIC (Women, Infant, and Children Nutrition Education and Food Supplement Program) clinics are held in Paris and Monroe City. Eligibility requirements do apply.
The department offers environmental services including communicable disease control and reporting, investigation of sanitation problems, sewage system evaluations/inspections and routine inspections of restaurants, grocery stores and lodging establishments.
Parents as Teachers (P.A.T.) is available to children, birth to age five, who reside in the Paris, Holliday, Middle Grove and Madison school districts.
Vital records can be printed at the Health Department for a fee. Birth and death certificates are available to those who were born or deceased in Missouri.
Child Passenger Safety Technicians are on staff to educate parents and caregivers on how to safely restrain children of all ages riding in motor vehicles. New car seats are available at a reduced rate by appointment.
The Health Department also features a Home Health Agency which provides intermittent or part time services in the home for the homebound patient. Services include skilled nursing, speech therapy, physical therapy, and personal care services.
The Monroe County Health Department is responsible for assuring that the citizens of the County have the opportunity to receive the highest quality of health care through the development of programs that focus on its citizens' needs. It is a tax supported County Agency governed by a five-member Board of Trustees.
