The park was nice, and the historic buildings are interesting. my main complaint is, that all the informational signs about the history of the site are in disrepair. You cant make out a majority of whats written.
Learning about earliest new immigrant success stories: Swedes, Fins and Lenape apparently live together well.
Very calm, peaceful, and historic place to fish or just to be surrounded by nature.
This is a beautiful place to come and fish and to relax. The only negative is that people need to take their trash with them. Mostly fishers who are just too lazy to take their stuff with them. Hooks and lines all over the ground. My husband pulled a hook out of his toe. If you come to use the land for your enjoyment - be kind enough to take your trash with you.

I am a direct bloodline descendant of John Morton. I grew up visiting the homestead all the time as a kid as I only lived a few minutes away from it. It is interesting knowing you are tied to such history; and to someone who signed the Declaration of Independence. I was in town recently for my father's funeral and passed by it. It definitely needs some upkeep. A must for local history buffs.
Its always fun learning about the local history in our area. It may not be too exciting for the kids. But adults will enjoy this historic cabin if you have an appreciation for local history . As it sits on the banks of an inlet to the Delaware river. This makes it a nice peaceful place tucked away from the rest of Norwood community behind Norwood park. There is another morton homestead nearby in prospect park. This family started the fur trade with local Indians and opened the area for more settlers.
There is no access to the house at this time. Some basic projects have been completed over the years. The place overall is nice to visit for history but is really lacking anything to do.
Took my new pup for a walk and wound up here. He came home with ticks. He had just been groomed. Not taking him back.
Beautiful place to visit
