I didn’t even know this was here, until my normal library Countee Cullen in Harlem was closed for renovations. Super cool and nestled away! Staff was super helpful, only 4 stars just because their selection wasn’t as expansive as the ones in Manhattan. May be due to this being a smaller branch. Nonetheless we’ll definitely be back!
This library is very nice , from the cleanliness to the staff and beautiful interior . I absolutely love it. I’ve watched this library grow and change over time & it’s always been 4-5 stars , the librarians are very helpful and some of them have been there for years. Yes they may not have a huge selection of books , but they have do have some games and as I said the librarian will help you order the book and or find help find another location who does have it .
Great neighborhood library wide selection of books for adults & children. Gets a little crowded after school but usually not crowded at all. I use to buy a bag of books for a nickel there. Highly recommended
This library is clean great staff and they are very helpful with any questions you may have. They also have a variety of classes and activities there for different ages groups. I will be returning there
Small to medium library .. Friendly staff.. Second floor is for the tiny ones children.three floors but I gotta take one star for no working bathroom!!! Ugh......lucky just outside but across the street was a port a potty on a construction project I was able to unofficially pop in to get relief... Would recommend this place
I came here to work on a project with a classmate. This library is a good place to get work done. There were enough tables and chairs to accommodate everyone who wanted to be seated, and the computers never seemed too busy. I would come here again to get work done. It's not completely silent, but I didn't find the sounds from other people including the children's room upstairs to be distracting.
I think the library offers many resources for people ranging from classes to performances. However, I am upset about the recent cutbacks to children's programmings. They used to have a Mad Science program and have a children's play or performance every Saturday. They hardly have anything anymore. This change occured after the start of the 2012 school yearSeptember. I suppose this is due to decrease funding. It's unfortunate to say the least. Overall the library is neat and kept in order. Sure the children's section can be loud, but that's why a whole floor is devoted to it. In think floors 3-5 are great and quiet enough for people who want to study or read in peace. Oh..but the bathrooms are horrible, absolutely horrendous. Going there often with children, I noticed that the children's bathrooms smells better than the adult bathrooms.
Loudest library I've ever stepped foot in and I've lived the worse parts of the Bronx, Manhattan and Queens. The local area kids and teens treat the bottom floor as a playground, video arcade and nightclub playing music through their cell phones and the noise is sometimes LOUDER than a schoolyard. Complaints to staff result in literally nothing but a quick "kids quiet down" which lasts about 2 seconds. I'm also pretty sure that some of the staff here will gossip about you to the kids outside should you become aggressive in your complaints. I've caught them doing it more than once. Also, the foul language in there resembles the type of filth you hear outside a parole office. 3 stars because they run pretty long hours.
I adore any library but this had an unbelievably small adult section...NO FICTION...yes of course"urban books"had a space plus a small biography section. Staff super nice but so disappointing as l have disability and looked SO FORWARD to picking out some treasures! Yes l know l can reserve but browsing is
Its cool. I love how they have group with mommy and their babies on certain days. I just wish the space was bigger because it gets a little crowded some days. Its best to go early where theres not so many people if youre like me that cnt stand a lot of bodies in a small place.
