Some of the best mountain bike trails around. We drove nearly five hours in the rain to reach these trails and were absolutely thrilled with them. Trails are well marked, maintained, and adequately rated. There is something here for every level of skill, but enjoying the stunning views requires no skill at all.
My favorite Arkansas state park! It is so clean and you can take your dogs on the trails! There is also a variety of trails that should meet any hiker or biker’s abilities! There is Camping here and you can also rent cabins, etc. It’s beautiful and has Great views! Restrooms are very clean. Will definitely come back!
Beautiful place to visit in Central Arkansas lots of hiking trails and the State Parks has cabins that can be rented. The one we stayed in was very nice. Also Pet Friendly, this place is a must see if your in the area. Not camper/trailer friendly no semi trucks are allowed the road to the top is full of switch backs and you would have to block the road is spots to even get a bobtail up there I would stick to a passenger vehicle.
Always love coming up Nebo. It's quite the journey up. But we'll worth it. So many overlooks. Sunrise. Sunset. Arkansas River. Deer everywhere. Cabins to rent. Nice little visitors center. Pool and playground. Definitely bring the family up for a nice quiet weekend. Bring some groceries if you don't want to go up and down the mtn. Not much on top besides gorgeous views. Playground: Nice little playground with lots of different things for the kids to play with. And you adults know you like to swing too.
For motorcyclists, riding to the top of Mt Nebo is a right of passage. The rewards are the people you meet, the views you witness & the satisfaction of knowing you conquered one of the toughest roads around. The gift store offers multiple patches as reward for your efforts. Several places to sit and relax and enjoy the views as well. Be careful of all of the deer around
My favorite State Park in Arkansas. The trails aren’t for the faint of heart. I climbed 53 floors by hiking 2 trails totaling 8 miles. Get a map!!Excellent place for camping and gorgeous cabins with full views of the mountains and lake! You will see the nuclear evacuation route and at times the steam from the plant is the source of “clouds” from the overlook. It’s all up hill getting there and 10mph curves allll the way up to 1800 ft elevation. Go slow there’s lots of deer!
Love this park !! We ride our Harley up to the top of the mountain to watch the sunset. Always a peaceful and beautiful experience.
Absolutely gorgeous state park. We did the rim trail. There are many to do, but the rim trail is the one you will want to do. 3 or so miles and beautiful views the entire way. We stayed in cabin #2. Breathtaking view and everything you could ever need at a reasonable price to boot. Nice playground, campsites and pool all right next to each other. Seems to be one of the few parks left that are tent friendly, since you cannot get a big trailer up the road in. Since we live close by, we will make this a regular stop.
Beautiful cabins. Certain cabins are dog friendly. Cabins have wood burning stoves or fireplace, some have jacuzzi tub or full kitchen. Very few tent sites with a playground and bath house. Pool is at visitor center. They sell a few snacks, wood, and souvenirs. The trails for hiking or biking are awesome Dog-friendliness: Some cabins are dog friendly
From the cabin to the trails it was all perfect. Our cabin was a 4 person cabin with amazing views. Plenty of room and all the accommodations we need. Pots pans microwave. Cable TV so kids had Disney while me and the hubs sat by the fire pit. So relaxing. Trails were awesome. Playground for my two littles. Love this park! It's a STEEP drive up with VERY sharp turns. I can't imagine hauling a camper. Under 24ft campers supposedly can make it but you can see the scratches in the pavement from people who have tried.
