Museum of the Creative Process

About

Welcome!

Founded and directed by Albert Levis, M.D., the Museum is a haven of artists, scholars, scientists, public intellectuals, and poets.

Description

A center of creative discovery, innovative research, and intellectual retreat. Located in historic Manchester Village on the estate of the Wilburton Inn, the Museum of the Creative Process brings together a global array of both modern and traditional creativity.

More than just an art center, the Museum is dedicated to understanding the psychological properties of creativity, bridging art and science to gain insight into human relations, interpersonal and interpsychic conflict.

The Institute of Conflict Analysis is the research arm of the Museum of the Creative Process. A center of advanced research into the social sciences, the Institute of Conflict Analysis has partnered with the Museum to further explore the intersection of science and religion, psychotherapy outcome research, and the structure of creativity.

Currently, the Institute is directing a new study partnering with counseling centers throughout New England monitoring the clinical effectiveness of the Power Management Program within clinical counseling contexts.

Mission

Directed by Albert Levis, MD, an educator and psychiatrist, the Museum focuses on principles of universality present within all creativity. Through coming to appreciate these common structures, Levis hopes to organize art's constant and causal elements and be able to derive a science of art.

Products

The Museum features a vast array of global art, modern sculpture, the Gorski "Pain-things" retrospective, and the Sanctuary of Wisdom collection.
