I had a friend who called 911 for help because he was having hallucinations. The ambulance staff laughed at him and mocked him for needing help to walk. Just completely unhelpful and ,acted as if they didn't care that his life might have been in danger. He told me that they basically kicked him out the next morning without making sure he could go home safely. Do not leave your loved ones in the care of these heartless people. He was really scared and nobody offered any solace. Why is this even a hospital??? They don't care about half the people admitted there. Just shameful.
They overcharged my insurance, then when I called to pay my medical bill, no one answered. I have called for a week now trying to get in touch with someone to pay my medical bill and no one is answering the phone. You might as well go to Vanderbilt, much better service.
Dr. Aowosanya is an exceptional doctor who cares for all her patients. It has been, and always will be a blessing to be her patient. She is informative and if she cannot fix your problems, she will find someone who can. Thank God for doctors like her.
Walked in and checked in for some bad stomach pain. Refused to go in through the front doors from waiting room because of cost concerns due to lack of insurance. Told them I'd feel more comfortable getting my medical insurance confirmed because I cannot afford to pay out of pocket for emergency room visit. Had to sign a release form saying I was refusing all services. Left 5 minutes after signing in didn't see any doctors at all. Just got a bill for $500 in the mail for sitting in the waiting room. Complete scam artists and wonder why the Healthcare system gets such a bad rap. This place is a prime example. I wouldn't go back here if I had any real problems, they might charge you for breathing the air in the lobby.
I've been coming here for many years. I've had several proceedures, and operations here. I use a doctor here for my regular personal physician. They've always taken good care of me and I trust them.
I had my first appointment yesterday with Dr. Tiwalade Awosanya. It was by far the best experience I've ever had at a doctor's visit. She took her time and explained everything to me,never once making me feel less than. I've had the same endocrinologist for the past 12 years. I never once felt like they cared. I actually felt important yesterday. The whole office was very nice!!! Love it there!!
The doctors and nurses are great! The front staff could be more organized and give better customer service.
I have stage 4 lung cancer and recently got diagnosed of epilepsy. There are 2 doctors there that are saving my life and taking good care of me and they are Doctor Bangalore Vital my neurologist and my oncologist Doctor Mohammed Kadmiri. They are the best and the nurses are too. General Hospital is a wonderful Hospital. I've noticed how people get impatient with the staff not realizing they have so much at hand and also staff shortages. I understand and me personally respect what is going on and remain patient until I get seen. I commend General on taking care of me.
If I could give 0 stars I would. I had an ultrasound done last week on Wednesday here it is Wednesday again. I called my providers office to inquire about the results they said they never received anything from the hospital and had to call them. The nurse proceeds to call and someone had the nerve to tell him that I didn’t come in and do an ultrasound. Once my nurse advised that I did indeed have an ultrasound done they magically found that I did come in and that my ultrasound was just sitting there and nobody had looked over it and that I would get a call back. That was yesterday still no call. I called today no answer. So I took it upon myself to do someone else’s job and drive up to meharry to light fire under someone to do their job. Front desk had to do their du diligence of someone else’s position
Terrible experience. I was visiting from somewhere else and had an emergency. My nurse in the ER was very helpful and kind, but the staff at the front desk and the billing service were/are extremely rude and refused to work with us. This was a couple months ago and the financial people are still insisting on being difficult. Thankful for my nurse though and helping me feel somewhat better enough to get back home and get proper medical help.
