I want to like this place. I’ve been a regular customer on and off for years. But today I went in and saw ALL except TWO of the bettas laying on their side on the bottom of their tiny little 5”x5” glass container. I hate to even buy them, knowing that it only contributes to the cycle of abuse. But the guilt overwhelmed me, and I had to save this energetic little guy from whatever toxic sludge they’re being kept in. Don’t worry, at least one of the fish from that display rack will survive.
This place is amazing!!! Has tons of fish and some exotic creatures too! I seriously love this place. They treat all their fish/creatures very well too. They have a giant fish thing that eats fish and his name is Walter! They also have real tortoises there! Other pet stores have betta fish in plastic tubes and most die in there. But this place keeps good care of them. I got a healthy crayfish from this place too!
Good selection of animals, especially arachnids and ball pythons. Prices seem pretty standard for a pet store like this.
Awesome experience! Aidan and Emma could teach a class on customer service. It was also nice to see that these employees truly seemed to care about the animals they're selling. They taught us SO much. "Pampake" is doing great!
This is long over due but I believe my husband purchased a leather back juvenile beardie from here a week after my baby Sebastian had passed away. My husband and my son fell in love with a particular beardie because it looked like Sebastian so they had to get him but they didn’t have enough because my husband still needed to pay for the cremation services for Sebbies. Long story short, my husband had asked the store manager if he could negotiate a price for the beardie, the store owner was initially asking for $150. The store owner was so kind to knock off $20 dollars. Honestly my guy was very grateful because he got to surprise me with the little guy after i got off work. I appreciate the store owner for having compassion and made a deal with us. He’s been liking it so far, just slowly getting comfortable.
My roommate just took off and left 4 Dart Frogs. I knew nothing about how to take care of them This place helped me so much with them. I moved back home and gave them the cute little frogs Great customer service and you can visit the cool Turtles
The reason for the 3 star review Pros : AMAZING selection, very helpful friendly staff, somewhat high but still reasonable prices Cons from my experience: I purchased an animal from this store after about a month the animal still wasn't doing well, I have plenty of experience so I decided to take it to the vet. Turns out the animal was LOADED with internal parasites. I was also able to find out from a staff member the animal was wild caught a practice that I despise and would never have participated in had I known however I suppose it was my fault for not asking I just assumed it would be disclosed. It seems like a fine store just be sure of what you are getting.
Omg I love this place upon my first visit! It reminds me of the pet store I used to haunt when I was younger. Wide variety of creatures and even insects. Good variety of foods for them too. I have a betta fish at the moment but I saw other critters I will try to get later when I start working on a setup.
This store is cool - I'll give them that. The animals seem relatively well cared for although I didn't love that some of the bearded dragons were housed together. They offer no guarantee on certain animals, which I can understand. We recently bought four frogs from them. They didn't ask about habitats or anything we had set up for them, just gave us the frogs and sent us on our way. We did our research and already had tanks set up but I was surprised that they don't really care where the animals are going. Within two days the pacman frog we bought for them died. I wasn't sure if he was dead or playing dead as they can sometimes do and called to ask if there's any way to find out for certain. I spoke with Megan on the phone and found her very rude and more interested in telling me about how they don't guarantee their amphibians then telling me about their care. I get it. Can't get a refund. Didn't ask for one. Was trying to figure out what could be wrong with our frog and/or setup. We'll be getting a new frog. But won't be going back to this store.
Recently bought a reptile from them, signed the 72 hour paperwork. Before purchasing, owner/manager was called to confirm how to care for this reptile. Told employee that called, didn't have enough to know about this reptile, so had no suggestions. We purchased this reptile, brought it home. Set up the enclosure similar to the one it was caged in. It wasn't moving, eating, reacting at all to being held. So within the 72 hours of having this reptile, we brought it back to exchange or get store credit. The owner asked questions as if we didn't know how to take care of it, we gave him all the right answers, while he just sat there on his computer, making us sound stupid, not helping. Needless to say, well be going further down Parker rd. to a more family friendly reptile store... Parker Exotic Pets.
